This easy-to-get-to wildlife destination is near several main roads and yet still provides peace and quiet and insight into Florida's native ecosystem. The slough is quite photogenic and the docent guides are knowledgeable and helpful. The boardwalk is over a mile in length and provides many photo opportunities, with fairly close encounters with many birds and wildlife species. This is well worth an hour or two, especially if you don't have time to go all the way out to Corkscrew swamp.
