“Nice public course”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 7, 2013

Great staff. Prices are very reasonable, even during tourist season. Course if flat and easily walkable. Tee boxes and greens are relatively close to each other.

“An old Gem by Donald Ross”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 27, 2013

If you love the history of Golf as well as the game itself you should try Fort Myers CC. It was designed by Donald Ross around 1917 and the course has withstood the test of time. It's only 6500 yards from the back tee's, but because of the small greens and lightly contoured surfaces putting is tricky. It's one of the few golf courses in SW Florida that allows you to walk any time of day and it is very affordable even in season. There are no houses on the interior of the course and you really get the feel of how the game once was. I will go back again and again.

“Golfing”

Flat course that is very easy to walk. Interesting course but need to know how to hit the ball off thin fairways that has sand base.

“Ok course for a great price!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed December 8, 2012

I have played this course many times. It is an average course with very little water and wide fairways. The greens are in good shape right now. The best part is that you can walk at anytime and the prices are cheap! It has an outside bar with great views of the 18th and 9th hole, a great place to have a beer after walking 18. There are nicer courses but you will pay much more! This course is beginner friendly.

“Disappointing”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed July 2, 2012

Course has a great history and the staff was superb and friendly, but the course was not in the best of shape. Could be the hot summer took its toll and the greens were recently aerated. It as interesting though to know you are playing a course that was basically requested by Edison and hosted Henry Ford, Harvey Firestone, Gene Sarazen and built by Donald Ross. It was like playing the British Open in one of those open field course without the wind and rain. Narrow fairways, fluffy rough in the first cut and deep grass after that to play in.
