“Good Place for Lunch”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 26, 2013

The French Connection Café is locally owned and operated and the meals are made with fresh ingredients. It is housed in a beautiful historic building so the ambiance is good. One section is more of an upscale sports bar and another is more of a traditional dining area. They are famous for their homemade quiche, especially their seafood quiche. You can get a variety of appetizers, soups, salads, and sandwiches for a moderate price (averaging about $9). The only 'con' is that you can get a good sandwich many places in downtown Fort Myers, but this is one of the better establishments. Their service staff is also remarkable.

“Misleading name”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed December 6, 2013 via mobile

Nice location, but do not let the name fool you. This is a sports bar trying to bust out of bar food, & doing poorly at it. Overpriced practice cooking. Very disappointed with both entrees.

“Pretty good lunch”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed November 5, 2013

I had a grilled grouper sandwich with creole sauce and fresh fruit. The grouper was pretty good. The fruit was excellent. Nice location and we sat outside at a table next to the street though it was a little windy. The person I was there with had crepes and she thought they were very good. With restaurants, a lot of times it's what you get. Service was good.

“Yum!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 29, 2013

It was so beautiful outside that my family and I decided to stroll around town, when we came upon the French Connection. It was so lovely. The service was slow, but it was lunch time and crowded so we didn't mind. Our waitress was great and brought my little one crackers so he wouldn't make a fuss! I was astonished!

“Great Food!!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 27, 2013

This restaurant has a good variety of food and everything I have tried so far has been delicious. The hot italian sub is by far my favorite menu item. Their Reuben is also a favorite. The interior is "different" but nice and clean. No real theme but it works well. The staff is hit or miss as they have some really nice waitresses but a few lack enthusiasm and therefore their service lacks but thankfully the good ones tend to work the floor. The only downside I could say is that later in the evening there is a "regulars group" that hangs at the far end of the bar and sometimes the waitresses forget they have other guests and service falls a little behind. I adjust my tips accordingly on those nights. Overall, excellent food, service and atmosphere.
