“Basic Mexican Fare is Pretty Basic”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed November 8, 2012

I rate La Casita a C. Nothing creative or unique about the basic Mexican fare offered here. Atmosphere is uber casual. There are extremes of above average to below. Margaritas are served in plastic hurricane glasses - - weird and tacky. Service was highly attentive was a plus, but being greeted by a shout across the dining room to seat ourselves wasn't. Guacamole is tasty, heavy lime flavor. Surprised the tamale isn't offered as an appetizer, only as an entree special on Wednesday; they're dense in texture and weak on flavor. Husband had the enchiladas - - average. Portions sizes are large, expect to take some home. Chips/salsa table service is limited to 2 complimentary rounds, after which they charge for it - - which tells me they must have had a lot of "free loader" experience to have to implement the policy. A personal first - - sour cream side to entrees is a served in single serving, sealed package, like ketchup in a drive-thru.
Doubtful I'll be back.

“Good quick food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 1, 2012

Went there alone for a quick lunch while out shopping. It was so busy but the two servers were able to handle the pressure with no problem. They didn't even break a sweat. Only had a taco salad with shredded chicken, but I want to try something else next time.

“Good food at a reasonalbe price”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 1, 2012

While visiting Fort Myers, we ate at La Casita on a recommendation from a family member. The food is plentiful and the service was good. The chips and Salsa was a little mild for me, but my wife loved it. I had the Enchiladas with chicken and my wife had the Chimichanga with chicken. We will definitely go there again if we are in the mood for Mexican food.

“quaint authentic mexican”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 19, 2012

We frequent Sanibel, and each trip we go "off island" to this little resraurant. The food is fairly priced and flavorful. I like the enchiladas verde. The tacos are crisp with fresh lettuce. We always get a pitcher of sangria and it is "one of the best". The salsa is freshly ground fresh tomato style and disappears quickly.
Service is average but food comes quickly.

“Good food, served fast”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 10, 2012

Stopped by for lunch. The food was good, portions generous, beer cold. Nothing to really kick it up to a five. But adequate, good meal.
