“Not many butterflies”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed June 21, 2014 via mobile

Small not what I would call in a state. More like a small green house. We were given a sheet to identify butterflies when we entered the room but it seemed there were more butterflies on the sheet greenhouse!

“A brief visit”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed May 14, 2014

We were a bit disappointed by the scope of this site. There was a guide who was there to answer questions about the life cycle of butterflies and their habitat, but we only saw a couple of varieties. There's a cafe on site and the ground have some beautiful flora, but it isn't a place we would visit again.

“Small but nice”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed May 3, 2014

When you enter, you learn about the life cycle of butterflies, then enter the glass building to enjoy watching and photographing a variety of butterflies. It's small, but packed with plants for each species of butterfly. Enjoy lunch at Z Crepes next door.

“Lots of Butterflies”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 23, 2014

Depending on which day, there could lots of butterflies. They informed me that the butterflies land more on a cloudy day. This was our 2nd time, sunny and the butterflies were very active. Hard to take pictures of the butterflies flying about. Have to follow them until they land. They release 30 new butterflies every Friday around 1 PM. The new ones come from a breeder in envelopes and they release them into the room. The museum is a greenhouse so it can get very warm. There are several fans to circulate the air. The front office is air conditioned. A nice place to spend some time. They play soothing music in the room. Be sure to visit Z Crepes next door for some delicious crepes but be prepared to spend some time since they are somewhat slow.
There is also a Tea House where high tea is served. A small gift shop is also on premises.

“So interactive and amazing”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 21, 2014

My family loved this attraction. We have been to places with more butterflies but what stood out is the staff. They were so interactive and amazing with my kids. Alexander took the time to explain the life cycle of the butterfly and then go through the estate and show them the eggs, catepillars and butterflies. They only have butterflies indigenous to Southwest Florida. The one on one attention we got from Alexander made my kids' day and he gave them dried butterflies to take to school and helped my daughter find a live butterfly to hold and name. It was a very special experience.
