“Dedicated to a Man who made a difference”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 20, 2014

We stopped in to see the house and were amazed at the genius who built it. The grounds and attention to detail in the original designs and purpose were beyond the imagination. Allow plenty of time to tour the museum. You can see the houses in about 2 hours, the museums will easily occupy the rest of the day.

“Back in time with Henry Ford &Thomas Edison”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 20, 2014

We were based in Venice a long the coast and drove to Fort Myers to visit the Ford and Edison estate.a very interesting day was had with our guide who new very thing about the house and occupants.the estate is well kept with many interesting items on display, for example some of Henry Fords motor cars and Edison's inventions .One interesting building in the grounds is apparently the first outdoor private swimming pool in Florida in its original state.
If your interested in American history this place is well worth a visit

“You won't be disappointed.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 19, 2014

Spend some time here. The museum and workshop are worth the trip if you see nothing else. But make sure to see the rest. The grounds are impressive if you look closely. The banyan tree is fantastic. Edison planting so many different species shows his foresight. It wasn't his garden. It was a grand experiment. This was his home and a living workshop. The Edison and Ford houses weren't built for their "architectural significance". They were built as beautiful and livable homes for family and friends. They have been beautifully preserved.

“Beautiful estate”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 19, 2014

Lovely gardens and the river views were beautiful. Enjoyed seeing the homes of two Americans who helped shape our world. The houses were interesting, but we were disappointed we could not actually tour their interiors (viewed from doorways and windows). Antique autos were neat. Enjoyed viewing pictures of family members and gaining a glimpse of their lifestyles. Well run facility and appreciated the free parking. Be exceptionally cautious crossing the street from the entrance/laboratory to tour houses and lawns . . . busy street, but there is signal there. Enjoy!
