“A gorgeous piece of history!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 28, 2013 via mobile

My husband and I visited the estates recently and loved the experience. We took the self-guided tout which allowed us time to wander and explore which was a good thing because there is soooo much to see! The estates are very large and covered in beautiful trees and plants that were the focus of most of my pictures. I've never seen trees the size of some of those. The self-guided tour was very informative still as they provide you with a device to play audio as you reach certain locations on the estate. The history of the estates was such a treat to see and learn about. We finished our trip with a walk through the museum, Edison's lab, and the gift shop which were all very enjoyable as well. A must do if you're in the Ft. Myers area!!!

“Change of Pace”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 28, 2013

A nice change after long lines at other attractions, the spring brake people are still here but they were not at the museum on this day. We enjoyed a leisurely 3 hours waddling around on a bright warm spring day trying unsuccessfully to see and read everything. I thought it was a bit steep @ $20.00 ea. for a self guided tour but there are 20 acres for them to maintain so maybe I'm just me being cheap. So do go and enjoy.

“Very historic and very interesting!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 27, 2013

Edison's genius is everywhere at this estate. Wonderful setting on the river. No access to interior but porches provide excellent views. Edison family still owns all the furnishings and artifacts, hence limited interior access, but don't allow that to stop you.

“We are museum members”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 27, 2013

This makes a great day trip for you and you kids/grandchildren. Even when the say they don't want to go, the always have had a good time and they actually learn somethimg each time. The only problem: the throngs of people who go there as well and the lines to get tickets. If it is possible, don't go during spring break time!

“Wonderful museum.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 27, 2013

This was one of the best museums I have been to. So informative. You can choose a guide or go alone. And each room has a video with close caption. It was so interesting. A MUST SEE
