“Exceeded our expectations”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 9, 2013

The Edison and Ford winter estates are sooo much more than just looking at the homes. The museums have outstanding displays of their inventions along with excellent videos. We learned so much about these two brilliant men. The botanical gardens were also impressive. You also get to walk through the laboratories where everything is just as it was and you feel that they will be back working there after lunch break.

It's a "must see" when visiting the greater Ft. Myers area.

“Breathtaking view of history”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 8, 2013

My snowbird relatives took me here to enjoy the beautiful winter homes of Thomas Edison & Henry Ford. There are three prices:$25 for guided tour, $20 for self-guided audio and school tours. There's a wonderful history behind this friendship and their homes including pictures and period furnishings! The tour includes the beautiful gardens, the Royal Palms and of course friendship.

“Must see for adults & older children”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 8, 2013

As a Florida "snowbird," this is the must-do activity when our northern friends visit. Beautiful homes and grounds, excellent museum, very interesting history regarding both of the men as well as the history of the Ft. Myers area, lots to see and experience but it isn't so large that it's overwhelming. The audio guide is fine, but it's best to get on one of the tours led by a "live" guide to get the personal stories and anecdotes of Edison and Ford. Plan to spend about 1/2 a day here--it's not a "see it and leave" sort of attraction.

“Escape from Pa.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 8, 2013

Very informative. Lots of things to see and learn about. Didn't realize Edison and Ford were into so many things. Just learning about the trees made the visit worthy. Go if you can, get there early due parking. Avoid the heat of the day if possoble. All in all---great time there and well worth it.

“Beautiful gardens!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 7, 2013

Beautiful setting on the river, we enjoyed the self guided tour. I visited with my sister and strolled the grounds. Edison workshop was very interesting. If you like nature and it is a sunny day, it makes a nice 2 hour visit
