“Great Park to visit during Manatee months”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 6, 2012

During the cooler months in the winter when the Manatee move inland, this is a great little park to go visit and see Manatee and their babies. It is very hit or miss if you are going to see the animals, but you are much more likely to see them December - March. So much fun to see with the kids! Fun playground for the kids as well!

“Manatees, Manatees, Manatees”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 4, 2012

Always go here when it is cold in Florida. The manatees hang out by the electric plant because of the warm water. They have observation decks and you can easily see the sea creatures. Great place to kayak.

“We were paddling, but the manatees weren't”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 27, 2012

This is a great little park for families. It is casual and low-key --- just perfect for a relaxed outing. Our group brought or rented kayaks and canoes, and we spent a relaxing morning paddling in the river which meanders by the park. We then had lunch together as a group. The weather was delightful, and the day was definitely a success, but unfortunately we didn't see any manatees. I gather that is a pretty common occurrence for Park visitors here. It's the luck of the draw: sometimes you see 'em, sometimes you don't. On this particular day, we were paddling, but the manatees weren't (at least not where we could see them!). Nevertheless, this was a very nice, very low-key place to spend part of the day.

“A great winter stop”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 25, 2012

Manatee are usually abundant in the winter months due to the warm waters provided by the nearby FP&L power plant. You can rent canoes there too.
