“Night out on the town in an old fashioned supper club...”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 18, 2013

The supper club style of restaurant has been gone for some time. It is difficult to manage this sort of venue. The first question is will anyone come the first time. Better question is will they come again. Roadhouse has kept growing and improving throught the most difficult economy only to come out on top as it improves. They deserve their reputation and work hard to maintain it.

The duo, a piano and singer, were superb with a good range. It is an older crowd but it is definitely not the nursing home crowd you see at some places. People were dressed up for the most part...not coat and tie but dressy casual, which is nice to see in Fort Myers.

Food was delicious and there wasn't a complaint at the table. I had carpaccio and a beet and goat cheese salad. Both delicious. Scallop entree was perfect. Nice wine selection and service.

“This is a must do place”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 15, 2013 via mobile

Driving up to this place you may want to turn around, shopping center location with a Big Lots anchor you wouldn't expect to find a nice restaurant. When you notice all the cars outside you figure others must like the place.

There is good reason for the crowd. From the moment you walk inside you are greeted with great service that continues until you depart. All of the staff act like you are the only customer in the place but in fact it is packed. We had trouble even getting a reservation. The food was great, from beginning to end. We had lobster which was cooked to perfection and a sea scallop dish. The soup, salads etc were just as good.

There was a jazz group playing the night we were there but they have a different group every night. Folks were up dancing in between their dinner courses. It is mostly an older clientele, one couple next to us were celebrating their 65th anniversary but it is still a lot of fun. It is an entertainment place that also has great food, not something you often find. A nice place that you will remember.

Great service incredible meal and I was too early for the jazz. The food is fantastic , very pricey, but can't say it wasn't worth every $

“Going downhill?”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed March 14, 2013

We have been to the Roadhouse many, many times, spending thousands, and enjoying the fine music, ambiance, and better than average food. Staff has heretofore been friendly and competent, and we make sure they are well taken care of. Lately, the ownership/management would seem to be getting a little complacent, even arrogant. The menu (and chef?) has changed recently, and not for the better. And if you have an issue with something, the staff and managers seem strangely unconcerned, offering no apologies or making absolutely no effort to make things right. Sigh, after having given this restaurant terrific reviews in the past, I have to report that as a result of very unsatisfactory experiences the last two times there, we have not been back in months, nor do we intend to, much as we'll miss the music. We have instead used the opportunity to get out and discover some new venues, like Brewbabies and Kristoff's, where the food is better, and the owners more enthusiastically appreciate your patronage.

“Travel Agent Review...don't miss this place for clients...its a WINNER”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 10, 2013

As a travel agent who sends a lot of people to Fort Myers/Fort Myers Beach/Sanibel and area people cannot believe the amazing restaurant when they come to the Roadhouse Cafe. The ambience is amazing but the food is even better. If anyone knows about the Knife and Fork Club of America where the top restaurants are...this one should be at the top of the list. I have ate at all the best steakhouses in America from the Chop House in Chicago to Ben Bensions in New York and Ruth Chris as well...the list goes on...this was the best Steak I ever ate in America. You would never know this place from the outside other than the parking lot is full 7 days a week. The sign ourside just says "Roadhouse Cafe" thanks to my friends Larry and Lucy for introducing this place to me...i am now a regular. I went there on Sunday Mar 10 at 7pm to show some friends who might want to go for dinner and it was hard to get in but the accommodated us...as they are all very kind and do what they can. My friends were so impressed they all booked dinner for this week and I am joining them. Do not miss this place if you are a local or visiting...Reservations are recommended. Thanks to Sherry and all the staff for the excellent service and to the chef for the amazing food.
