I booked this hotel for use by my team of twelve men while we assembled our stands for the British Marine Industry at the Ft Lauderdale Boatshow in October 06.

A friendly and welcoming place to stay in a prime position on the sea front, close to restaurants while far enough from the bars for some peace at night. The staff were always helpful and courteous. The rooms were well appointed with all including a fridge, sink and kitchen area. On initial inspection on arrival by myself, I found the rooms neat, tidy and clean. The towels displayed in a most pleasing manner. The air conditioning worked well in all the rooms we booked and controlled the temperature very well. Hotel breakfast: Quite adequate and fair to good quality with fresh coffee, Bagels and jams with fruit in a side dish. My only suggestion here would be for a greater range of jams (ie Peanut butter and maybe Marmite or Marmarlade (Orange). But all in all, my staff or hungry working men ate every morning (0700 hrs) prior to working thru to 1 pm and never complained.

Suggestion for the future; If the Hotel was willing to bid for a drink licence, to sell beer, it would be an advantage for all.

This hotel provides good value for money when one considers it's location and season.

I did not go with a reservation, we just drove by and chose this one. From outside, it didn't look that bad. The staff was nice. However, the room is another story. The bathroom looked like the bad 70s style. The room was large but as soon as we were on the bed, we realized that it was not flat. We didn't think it would be a major problem until a couple of hours after falling asleep, we awoke with strong pain on our necks. Because the bed was higher on the bottom, all our weight was on our neck. We ended up sleeping upside down and asked for another room the next day. The other room was much better until a drunk guy came and knocked when i was alone in my room.
The location is great but the hotel is not a place i would go back to, there isn't much comfort if at all.

The hotel is right across from the beach which is a plus, but that is about the only advantage to this hotel. Our flight was early so we arrived at the hotel at 12 in the afternoon. During check in they informed us that they wanted 500 CASH DEPOSIT!!! We were never informed of this when we booked the hotel. We refused to give them 500 cash, so we talked to the manager, who treated us like trash because we were under 30. She told us people of our age trash their hotel so they want cash so they can keep it if anything happens inside our room or the outside hallway!!! Being smart enough we knew this was against the law to demand 500 dollars with no notice, so we fought and after a long agruement she finally waved the fee. Then to make matters worse a room would not be ready til 3 and they had no place to check our luggage, so we had to stay on the beach with our luggage! Then to top it off our room wasnt ready til 4, and in the process of waiting in the lobby for an hour, 5 older couples were giving room keys before us! They had just walked in with luggage and given keys right away!
To make it worse the first thing we saw when u walked into our room was a COCKROACH on the wall. After looking around the room we found another one in bathroom. We tried to get our money back and check into a new hotel, but we booked through hotels.com so there was no money back!

I was very nervous to stay at this hotel after reading several reviews on Tripadvisor and its forums but it really was not as bad as it seems. Don’t be fooled by everything that you read. Of course this hotel is far from being a 4 or 5 star hotel but if you are fine with little mom and pop hotels with little or no amenities it really is good.

There are several rooms in several buildings. I booked an efficiency and was in the back building by the second pool. Personally if you can get a room in the back building I feel it is the quietest. There is construction on both sides of this hotel but I noticed it being louder on the left side of the hotel. My room was very spacious and had a full stove and full size fridge with plenty of kitchenware for cooking. It was really amazing. The beds were quite comfortable too. Please if you expect gorgeous décor and squeaky clean carpets then this is not the place for you.
Breakfast was served every morning and it was decent. The usual bagels, cream cheese, jam, coffee, donuts and juice. The only downside is that if you are in the back building and want to eat in your room, you will have to walk a bit.

The location is great, right across the beach therefore I cannot really comment about the pool because I did not use it much but they do have 2 of them for a hotel which isn't bad at all. The lobby and the big waterfront balcony has wireless Internet which was quite speedy. Its close to Las Olas and the Beach Place. There is plenty of parking at the hotel and it is free.

The only thing I can really complain about is the maid service, they take forever to clean your room. One day we left our room at 2 pm and it still wasn't done. Also the staff isn't the greatest but like I said, this isn't a 4 or 5 star hotel.

I don't know what all of the negativity is about? Some people can just never be pleased! I think that this is an excellent place for the price that you pay. You get what you pay for. Of course there is better, if you want to pay for a 5-star then go there! I had originally booked an efficiency suite however, upon getting there realized that it wasn't suitable for all of us (we were 4 with a child). The person at the front desk was very accomodating and pleasant, and I was even given a free upgrade to a bedroom suite which was just perfect. The hotel is directly across from the beach; There are 2 on-site pools; Complimentary breakfast; A good walking distance to Las Olas blvd; A gorgeous patio & view; The only drawback is the construction going on beside, but while in your room with the a/c on, you don't even hear a thing. I enjoyed the more personal-touch that this place offered, rather than the larger hotel chains that can be rather impersonal. I do suggest that you have a car when you stay here though, it makes for getting around alot easier.
