This is a great place to stay in Fort Lauderdale. We stayed here March 12-14 post cruise. The cab from the cruise port was $18.50. We had a great time here. Great location across the street from the beach. The friendliest, most helpful staff I have ever seen. The water taxi has gone up to $10.00 for an all day pass and you can catch it just a few blocks up from the hotel near a restaurant called Casablanca. We ate lunch there after the taxi ride and the grouper was delicious and they had excellent service.
You can catch a bus (#11 and cost is $1.00 per person) across the street and go to a Winn Dixie for groceries for the room. The bus drivers were very friendly and helpful.
Nice continental breakfast with juice, tea, coffee, bagles, fruit and danish. Very warm pool, lots of comfortable seating. You can check out beach towels in the office. The room was not fancy but very adequate. We had a microwave, fridge, coffee pot, hair dryer, tv, in room safe and a comfortable bed with extra pillows.
If you are standing in front of the hotel looking at the ocean go to your right for restaurants and Los Olas Riverwalk. It was a pretty long walk but we walked to the Quarterdeck one evening and had a delicious meal. It was a nice walk with lots of restaurants and shops along the way. We got a cab back to the hotel and it was about $5.00.
If you go to your left there are a few restaurants and some souvenir shops and right next door was a bar where people were getting cases of beer for $16.00 and bags of ice for $1.00.
I would love to stay here again, it was just perfect!!
