We checked in early (around noon) and the room we were given was on the 2nd floor next to the elevators. When we walked into the room, the smell of cleaning fluids overwhelmed us. We asked for another room and got one on the 4th floor. This was much better. The 2nd room was very clean, but some of the furniture and fixtures were somewhat dated and worn. We were told that the hotel was undergoing renovation and there were lots of construction people around during the day, but we never heard any noise from this. The staff was very friendly and an ample breakfast was provided every morning. We did not spend much time in the room since we were busy sight-seeing and hanging out at the beach, so this room worked for us.

I would have rather stayed in the Lobby than in the suite. The room I
stayed in had a broken lamp over the head of the bed that sparked the
first night I stayed, feeling of being damp carpet, a loud vent in the bathroom, a tub that was clogged even when maintenace tried to fix it, a shower that ran from the bottom faucet and the shower head at the same time, and worst of all, a bed that tilted to the side when you sat at the bottom which was due to a big opening at the bottom of the bed. The material was completely unattached from the rest of the bed and you could look through and see the other end of the bed from the inside. I felt as if I stayed in a motel. Then after
I called the front desk to inform them about the light, she tells my guest right in front of me that I told her we were playing with the lamp. I was uncomfortable with the room and after requesting another,
was turned down due to how busy the season was. I would not recommend
this hotel.

This hotel is a filthy disgusting dump. Stay away from it! I heard it is being remodeled as a Hyatt Place - it is long overdue. The bed was like 20 years old and the towel rack fell off the floor.

I found this Amerisuites on hotels.com. Everything on hotels.com was exactly described as we saw it which was nice. We were driving in from Orlando to stay one night for a wedding on a Saturday. I called the hotel and the guy there gave me wrong directions so I called back again and talked with a lady that new what she was talking about. We got to the hotel and it is centrally located. Although we didn't go for a cruise, it would have been a great hotel to stay in for one night before your cruise were to leave. They had free shuttles for cruisers and free breakfast. We didn't get up early enough for the breakfast. The room was really spacious but the bed was a little hard to sleep on. Everything else was in good working order. Since we were there on the weekend,there were tons of cruisers and only 1 person at checkout.

Overall I would recommend the hotel for anyone staying 1-2 nights and for cruisers before or after your cruise. Be sure to get up early enough as there was a loong wait with only one clerk to check people out.
