After reading the reviews, I was leery of this hotel. But I was using Starwood points, so the stay was basically free.
We loved it. Our family of four stayed for 4 days. Our room was redecorated and extremely quiet.
The hotel was supposed to be full ,but we didn't hear any noise from other patrons. There wasn't any noise from trains or planes either.
The hotel is a bought out Embassy Suites, so if you've ever stayed at one, they are all set up the same. We had wonderful service from the staff ,especially the waiter who served us at the pool.
We enjoyed the food, but we ate out at the other restaurants most of the time because there are so many good ones within walking distance. Some examples are the diner that is open 24/7. They have a fantastic breafast where you can sit outside to dine. That's a big deal for us Snowbirds.
There's also a Bennigans, Hooters, Steak and Ale, Longhorn Steak House and a theater within walking distance. We didn't need reservations on the week-ends because it's a business district. The restaurants are not busy on the week-ends except for Hooters. We had great service everywhere we went.
We enjoyed the pool area at the hotel. The kids had fun with the other children at the pool. The pool was never crowded but the pool lounge chairs are full by 11:00A.M. One big drawback for us was there isn't a bar by the pool.
Unfortunately, the bar in the hotel doesn't open until 3:00P.M. which was our biggest complaint. They really need bar service
at the pool and the bar needs to open sooner. I mean, come on, it's a vacation!
Anyway, we had a nice time at our short stay here. We would
probably stay again with our own cooler of Corona by the pool.

3/9/08: Stayed at the Sheraton Suites Cypress Creek in Fort Lauderdale on a business trip 3/5 and 3/6.

The room was musty and not very clean room. Coffee maker inoperable and resulted in spill of grounds/coffee all over bar counter. Bar counter and bathroom counter had lots of small ants crawling around. Mold in the shower; hair on the bathroom floor, large hole in the shower stall. Hand towels were not replenished on second day...none...had to use one of only two bath towels which were thin, short and rough.

Restaurant was poorly staffed...waited a while before the "waiter", and I use that term loosely, finally stopped setting the tables and came over to seat me...in the empty restaurant! Food was barely adequate but pricey. Ate at the bar the second night and the bartender was gracious, helpful and very quick despite the bar being two deep. Food was adequate.

I travel constantly on business and although this hotel is very close to my business needs, I will not stay there again and have advised my co-workers not to do so as well.

Hotel is totally renovated and the train noise has STOPPED! The train can't blow its horn any more at this intersection!! Hotel rooms are beautiful and very comfortable. Great staff and food at dinner was wonderful.

We stayed 3 nights at the Sheraton beginning Dec. 28th. When we checked in at 5:00 we were told that our room was not ready. Check in time was at 3:00. We were not happy since we had dinner reservations at 6:30 and would have liked to shower first. After complaining they found a room for us. It was a renovated room that was not quite ready. There were baseboards missing, no garbage cans, a light switch cover missing. When my daughter went to use the shower the water would not go down. We called maintenance and they came right away. Since we had to leave I don't know how long it took him to fix the shower. When we got back later that evening the shower was fixed, but he left a dirty bathtub and dirty bathroom floor. Also when we opened the sofa bed that night there were no blankets or sheets on the sofa. We called the front desk and they sent housekeeping up to clean, but they said that there were no blankets or pillows available. That was true for the entire 3 days.
Also, towels were very difficult to get. One day they cleaned our room and did not leave any towels because they didn't have any.
This hotel has a lot of potential, but right now they are very disorganized!
