Stayed here on the way to a cruise, and after the cruise.

It is a nice place, well kept.

The first night there the fire alarms went off three times periodically throughout the night. Needless to say, we did not sleep. :(

Everything else was nice though.

The Sheraton Suites Cypress Creek was a welcoming property, and great for pets. The hotel IS across from a train/transit station from Ft. Lauderdale to Miami, and yes you can hear the train, but it really didn't bother us. The lobby is nice and friendly, and very clean - FYI - whoever wrote about the possiblility of bed bugs IS WRONG - this hotel is very clean, and they are in the process of renovating all the rooms - Don't let this deter you, as we heard absolutely no noise. I would recommend this property highly. And there's a cute little restaurant with good food, a nice pool area, and I think I saw a steam room. I'd stay here again.

Stayed there just a few days ago (2nd week of July 2007) on business. This was my second stay and our company uses the hotel through some sort of booking program so I had little (read that "no") choice in hotels.

I will also offer up the thoughts of my co-workers who stayed there, as well.

The rooms are typically musty. My room the first time I stayed here was very humid and musty. This time, the room smelled very strongly of bleach. I would have complained but I figured that bleach was better than whatever they cleaned up with the bleach or whatever they killed with the bleach. Based upon the reviews and advice of others, I requested a room away from the train so I did not have a lot of train noise. However, a co-worker did say he woke up near hourly to the sound of the horn on the train. Unpleasant.

My room was clean enough though there was a cigarette burn hole in the comforter of the one of the beds. However, a co-worker called me today and is pretty sure she had bed bugs in her room. She is going to the doctor today to confirm - she complained the next morning of itching.

The center of the hotel is interesting enough with the fauna, water, and turtles warming themselves under heat lamps. Yes, the elevators are unbelievably slow and I think getting a decent room here is a roll of the dice. Almost everyone in my party said the rooms were musty and/or smell of *something*. Front desk people were nice.

I'd give this place 2 1/2 out of 5.
