Went down for a long weekend with my husband..........very satisfied, this is a very good deal...........it's a nice, clean, cute hotel a block from the beach. We arrived about 10am on Friday, since the place was not full we were able to get into our room right away. Patty was very accomodating.........we had a quiet room with an ocean view...........the room was a good size, we had a king bed which was very comfortable, we slept great. The room could use a clock radio, we like music while we are getting ready and there were no clocks in the room. The bathroom could use updating, but was clean, the shower had good pressure and the towels were quality, thick ones. Make sure to bring your own shampoo & conditioner, we only got soap. Although it isn't mentioned on the website, there is a blow dryer in the bathroom. Having a small fridge came in very handy, we bought water & beer at the convenience store a few blocks away. The pool is small, but it was big enough, there were plenty of chairs and they were in good condition. I liked the fact there are shade trees by the pool...........they give the place character and you can get out of the sun for awhile if you want. We used the shuffle board by the pool, just ask at the desk. Noticed they were renting videos at the office, but no VCR to use them.??? Mick was very nice, pleasant & informative about things in the area. He called a cab for us when we were ready to leave. We didn't get a car, just there for beach & sun, didn't really need one since things are walkable. Only 3-4 blocks away there is a pizza place that serves a good breakfast and a couple of other casual restaurants and convenience stores. In the other direction, about 3/4 of a mile there is a the Beach Place with plenty of nightlife and outdoor cafes. We are big walkers, we went on a walk every morning along the beach-beautiful! There is a nice mall that is walkable on Sunrise, you can always take a cab back if you buy stuff. At the Beach Place, there is a really fun place called Howl at the Moon that has dueling pianos, has a lot of audience participation.
