While the hotel is old, our room was one of the cleanest I have seen in a long time. The owner/manager Mick is one of the nicest persons I have met. He made every effort to make our stay comfortable and stress free.

The hotel is also very near to the beach (only 2 blocks). We enjoyed being able to take a good long morning walk along the beach walk.

I have never had a more wonderful experience than I did while I was at Tropi Rock this past summer. Online hotel bookings can be sometimes quite scary!I never dreamed that everything good I read about this place was TRUE! You could not ask for or even find nicer hosts than Mick & Patty! We stayed 5 days and we hated to leave. Great location and price as well. Some people say you get what you pay for but in this case I felt we got a great deal more than we paid for when you totaled it all up. The only thing I can say is if you want a "Hoity Toity" joint than go waste your money at some upscale cold hotel chain! On our way home, in Orlando, we were subjected to one of those joints as part of a promotion for Westgate Condos! We paid more and got the trashiest room I have ever stayed in! We wanted our Tropi Rock back! By the way did I say what wonderful hosts Mick & Patty were? You guys ROCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think the hotel is ok but I just didn't like staying there. The gentleman who runs the place is great, and the location to the beach is great. I was able to walk to the beach and the hotel gave me towels and an umbrella which was wonderful.

What I didn't really like was my room had dust everywhere. There were nic nacs (for lack of a better word) all over. It just seemed cluttered and dirty. I stayed in a room with no kitchen so maybe that was the difference. I just don't like staying at a place that isn't as clean as my own home. We also found it hard to find a place to eat that wasn't greasy food from a bar. I was only there for two days so maybe we just didn't get the feel of the place well enough.

My overall feeling is that when I was younger and more on a budget then this hotel would be great but now that I'm older and my standards have changed, I wouldn't stay here for more then one or two days.

I read all the reviews of the Tropi Rock Resort, along with other hotels in the area, prior to booking. My husband and I stayed one night prior to boarding a cruise ship.

The Tropi Rock's owner/host (Mick), is indeed very friendly and helpful. The location is excellent, with only a 2 minute walk until you toes will sink into the sand! We could see the ocean from our room (2nd floor end-unit). Coffee available on premise, swimming pool area secluded, but bottom of pool could use good scrubbing. Family friendly, restaurants within very reasonable walking distance.

Our room was large, clean, and decor was kitchy (sp?) All in all, pretty cute. I challenge anyone to find such good, reasonably priced accommodations so close to the beach for less than $100 per nite. We would stay again.

Folks, manage your expectations here. It's a very good 2-star motel. Clean, great location, friendly folks. If you demand Hyatt's or same, this isn't the place for you.
