This is my second review of the hotel and will be less detailed than my first from a few years ago(2003). We'll I'm a few years older than the last time. I still think this place is a gem and a fantastic location to the beach but my back did notice the wear on the matress and a bit more noise this time and these are the reasons my rating is 1 step lower. This is one of the places I go to escape and drown in lifes simple pleasures. It's really like going to a comfy, cozy - grandmas house on the beach.. if you will. Yes, the shower drips a little, the walls are a bit thin and the mattresses are getting worn but outside of that it's great.
You feel like you are part of a really nice family and can ask the owners for anything, though they usually know when you need something and will offer it. Last stay we were given an unbrella to stroll around town as the dark clouds were rolling in. It's close to the beach, very tropical, inexpensive for the location and a joy to stay at if you can relax and enjoy the little things. If you're looking for a little adventure and can be forgiving of imperfections try it. When I want luxury, constant silence and perfect details I choose a corporate chain I'm familiar with or more upstale hotel. The point is you will either love or hate this hotel. Really think about who you are, your expectations and reasons for the trip. Then pick what is right for you.
