Stayed there just for one night as a stopover on May 24 06. I am very happy that I have chose such a lovely hotel, full of charactors and very artistic, most important of all - very good location to the beach (2mins walk), to the Galleria (shopping mall, walk 15mins), to the Las Ole Las (5 mins by car). THere are several shops on the beach and fantastic resturants where you could have no problem about getting something for your stomach or chill out after sun bathing for some time.

My friend lived in FL came to visit me and she was very impressed of the hotel esp. the quality so far they have provided. We all like the owners (the terrific lady whome helped me to find my ways many times during my stay, allow early checkin and introduce me to her lovely dog Oliver - however forgot to ask her name. Mich is very helpful and exteremely friendly to everyone including the delivery man, helpers and not just hotel guest.
One sad thing is that I did not spend enough time there and needed to fly back home.

Very decent area with good value and excellent service, price is absolutely a PLUS.

I will definitely bring my husband sometime next year and stayed there again. HIGHLY recommended!! Hope you'll like it.

Very nice hotel with a refreshing and unique decor. Mick the owner is fantastic and very considerate & helpful. The hotel is well maintained and very clean. Many people have described the hotel as a '50's style hotel with funky decor. The colors of the hotel room (dark yellow) outside walls (dark orange) and even the painted decorations on the huge glass room window were a nice and refreshing site. I didn't get to use the pool but it's a nice looking pool with seats on the patio which were nice to sit at for morning coffee. The beach was only a 2 minute walk from the hotel. A big plus was that the hotel was not too close to the ongoing construction of the high risers in the area. I will definitely bring my family back should we ever make it Fort Lauderdale again!!

We just got back from staying at Tropi Rock. A wonderful little place that is a one minute walk to the beach and close to many restaurants. The pool was great, owner went out of his way to make our stay enjoyable and the staff sings!!

I loved the decor, not your average hotel look. I felt as if I were in a comfy apartment and not a hotel. We also had our two young children and they have a huge selections of VHS movies for 2 bucks a night which was really wonderful, sure beats the $10 movies on the tv at most hotels.

We will definately stay at Tropi Rock again.

Stayed 2 nights at The Tropi Rock in mid May. Mick the co-owner was, as everyone on Tripadvisor has extolled, extremely nice and personable throughout our emails and in person as well. He and his wife Patty work very hard and it's obvious they care about their business and in providing above average service. We were out and about mostly so we didn't take advantage of the pool nor the tennis courts. We stayed in an end unit on the 3rd floor on the first night, which was very quiet and pleasant with a refrigerator and small kitchenette area. The shower pressure was rather poor, however, and the sink extremely slow in the bathroom. This is still basically a motel, albeit very clean despite its obvious age, and is comfortable and a very good value in that area (within a short walk to the beach). The 2nd night we moved to a 2nd floor room in the middle of the corridor, and the room was nice, with much improved shower pressure, but it was unfortunately a bit noisier with neighbors slamming doors and walking back and forth, and the air conditioner unit was also noisy. The beds are quite firm which didn't really suit me, but overall, for the value, I give Tropi Rock a thumbs up. It was nice to have free internet usage and they charge 25 cents per page should you need to print pages. If you don't plan on staying in your room too much, and just want a clean, affordable place to stay, the Tropi Rock won't disappoint you.
