I really loved my stay here. I was only in town for one night on business, but somehow feel like I just went on a vacation. The rooms were charming and clean. The staff was extremely nice and helpful. The pool area was a wonderful place to have some coffee, read, and enjoy the morning sun (they did a great job giving the area some character)

Be sure to say hello to Mick (behind the counter) and Oliver (the hotel dog) when you stop in.....two of the nicest mammals in fort lauderdale!

I don't know where to start. I guess from the very 1st phone call I ever had w/ Mick-he was amazing. I work in the travel industry and the time I was in Fl (last week) was very busy. When I called to make arrangements for my biz partner and myself, so many places were too expensive (spring break/convention time=higher prices and few discounts for me in the industry), already full, wouldn't return my phone call, or just plain had horrible reviews. After hours (literally) of searching, I found Tropi Rock…and I got the last room that was available for the time we needed! Thank God! This place was sooo amazing and the price was even better. Mick (owner) is one of the absolute nicest people you will ever meet!
From the tropical garden, to the tennis courts, to the 3-minute walk to the beach, a cook-out area, shuffle board, amazing pool, water fountain, shower by pool built in to a tree, another water fountain, themed rooms, unique character, fridge in every room, Oliver (the hotel dog), 3 minute walk to the citi-bus stop, 8 minute walk to a delicious pizza place, 1 walk to the trolley, 20 minute walk to one (of MANY) malls, to sooo much more, I would recommend this place to anyone! They gym…better than some “name brand” hotels have and Mick said most people don’t even use it. Use the gym! Not big, but big enough w/ many workout options. My favorite: the free weights. What hotel offers you free weights?? Most don’t!
The rooms are clean, bathrooms are great. They have complimentary coffee every morning, complimentary towels for the beach. Even the ICE CREAM MAN stopped right in front of the hotel. I felt like a kid again. I bought myself an Oreo ice cream stick. 
If you are going to Ft. Lauderdale and you found the Tropi Rock, STOP! Don’t look any further. Pick up the phone, call the Tropi Rock, and Reserve your room today before they’re all gone (b/c that almost happened to me.) Check out their site too. http://www.tropirock.com.

I have never had a more wonderful experience than I did while I was at Tropi Rock this past summer. Online hotel bookings can be sometimes quite scary!I never dreamed that everything good I read about this place was TRUE! You could not ask for or even find nicer hosts than Mick & Patty! We stayed 5 days and we hated to leave. Great location and price as well. Some people say you get what you pay for but in this case I felt we got a great deal more than we paid for when you totaled it all up. The only thing I can say is if you want a "Hoity Toity" joint than go waste your money at some upscale cold hotel chain! On our way home, in Orlando, we were subjected to one of those joints as part of a promotion for Westgate Condos! We paid more and got the trashiest room I have ever stayed in! We wanted our Tropi Rock back! By the way did I say what wonderful hosts Mick & Patty were? You guys ROCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We just got back from staying at Tropi Rock. A wonderful little place that is a one minute walk to the beach and close to many restaurants. The pool was great, owner went out of his way to make our stay enjoyable and the staff sings!!

I loved the decor, not your average hotel look. I felt as if I were in a comfy apartment and not a hotel. We also had our two young children and they have a huge selections of VHS movies for 2 bucks a night which was really wonderful, sure beats the $10 movies on the tv at most hotels.

We will definately stay at Tropi Rock again.
