Our bathroom was flooded with human waste--the toilet was covered (looked like it had almost erupted) the bathtub had it all over and was inches deep, and the floor was and the vanity area was flooded over an inch or two deep. My son stepped in it without shoes as light was not on--we had just arrived late from a day trip--we had been out since 8am. Called urgently for help. Had to explain this by phone to two people (Service Express and Night Manager). They did nothing quickly--they sent up no one immediately, and this was at a very quiet time for the hotel. I already had the room half packed and my son out of his filthy, waste covered socks. No where for him to wash as bathroom and vanity area covered in waste and no one came up to help. Wouldn't refund our night as we booked with a third party. Manager rude, condescending and not able to handle crisis. She acted like this was not a big deal, despite the magnitude of the issue at hand. Didn't seem to understand implication of stepping in human waste or disease this could cause. Lost five items that were either in bathroom with human waste splatters or my son had been wearing when he stepped in waste. Management refused to provide refund even though I immediately matched each item, by brand name and size and gave an internet picture/price that exactly matched each item. We will leave today without a refund for our room and without hundreds of dollars in items with no refund. I witnessed other guests have issues (room not cleaned, key not working) and received the same blank stare response. My son will need to be checked by a doctor. No concern shown for my son, no empathy for me, no refund, no service. Unreal. Can't believe this happened. My son is finally sleeping upstairs (he had to shower and couldn't sleep after this happened) and I have barely slept. I am writing this from the hotel. No letter of apology this morning, no refund, and the hall in front of our old room looks damp and stained. This is not a mix up in a room service order--this issue has the potential to spread disease and the manager honestly had no idea how to respond. We have potentially been exposed to disease and will leave without our items or a refund for them. No explanation of next steps or how we get our money back for items lost, even though I requested a full inventory, next steps and who the contact would be. No follow up.
