We booked in for 2 weeks which is a considerable amount of time and money. Everyone expects a Sheraton Hotel to live up to the name and their minimum standards and this hotel just isnt good enough. Our first room was a real hike away fron the beach. It involved 3 elevators, a walk across a skywalk, lobby bars ,2 buildings we had a young child so for 2 weeks would have being a right pain, Room view was of the main road. the room itself was very clean and tidy.
Second room was awful, Beautiful view, Beautiful mould, A lump of ceiling was hanging from the wall, Rain was dripping into room, carpet was soaked Smell was of damp and mould. I had a 16 month baby and they sent me to this room!!
To be fair everytime i asked to be moved there was no problem and the third room was above the pool bar with easy access to the pool and beach, The beach attendents are young guys with great attitude, really friendly and chatty, The pool area is clean and well kept with plenty of clean towels and the bar is excellant, Good barman called Bobby. Pina Coladas are great.
However the main bar which has a view to one of the swimming pools and featured in the movie "Analyse This" is dark, very dated and the main guy in the bar needs to be nicer, only time he smiles is when he's picking up the dollars from the bar also its really pricey, Theres a bar across the road called the Bahia Cabana which looks awful fron the outside but is really cool inside, cheaper drinks better service and beautiful view of marina. There is a small shop in the Hotel that sells beer, coffee snacks etc but its such a rip off, Nearly $.4.00 for a can of beer, Come on!
There were some really good staff there and they deserve credit for the amount of service they provided and i got to mention one of the concierge guys his name is Darren extremely friendly without being cheesy, Just a really nice bloke, the other guys are always looking for the extra buck, avoid at all costs, One last bit of advise is that there is a bus stop outside the hotel and there are free buses called suntrolleys, other buses stop there and you can get a all day pass for $2.50 Hope someone from Sheraton reads this and pulls the finger out, This hotel has plenty of potential, Hope this review helps someone
