I stayed at the sheraton yankee clipper on aug. 29th and had the best experience ever! I requested an early check-in but they told me it was at 3:00pm however Jose, at the front desk, went out of his way to get a room ready for us. after waiting for for about one hour we got the room and also an ocean view. We spent most of the time at the beach bar enjoying the view. The bartender Gil was very pleasant and accomodating he made us feel right at home, the only bad thing was that the food was kind of overprized. In the evening we got ready to go out so we stopped by the concierge and Randy recomended a couple of places to have fun; we took his advice and had a BLAST!!
The next morning we were missing some coffee mugs and we called down to the front desk and spoke to Sheela, she made it happen in matter of minutes!
My only concern during our stay was the price for parking 10.00!!?? might as well park in a public area right? but overall I had the best experience, and even though the rooms are a little bit outdated the only reason I would go back is because how welcoming the staff made us feel.

I stayed here for several days in late August. From the moment I walked in the front door, I was amazed first of all by the friendly, helpful staff. Everyone from the Front Desk agents to the extensive facilities staff smiled and greeted me. The room was clean, comfortable, and well-maintained. The hotel has its own beach. There is a good restaurant on-site, an outdoor bar facing the beach where you can also order food, as well as other shops inside. For a hotel of this great size, it is very well run and maintained. I will return for sure.

We enjoyed staying at the Yankee Clipper. The hotel lobby is elegant and all of the staff were very friendly. The hotel is right on the beach. Our room had a fantastic view of the water. The room and bath were very nice and of course the bed was wonderful. We had a little seating area in front of the big window so even during the afternoon rain, we could enjoy the beach. We like having FOX news in the room also. The only improvement would be to have some kind of informal hamburger/sandwich place inside the hotel. There was an outside grill, but it is so hot during the summer. The restaurant inside was upscale. This is not a big problem since you can walk a block and get a good meal. It would just add to the already wonderful stay at the Clipper. We will absolutely stay there again, when we are in Fort Lauderdale.

Fort Lauderdale is my and my husband's little getaway and the Sheraton Yankee Clipper is an integral part of it. This was our 7th visit to this hotel, and every visit has been enjoyable. As I read some of these posts, I wonder where these folks may have been staying. The staff is wonderful. In all 7 times, I have never encountered a rude staff member, only helpful and friendly people, with a special mention to Jerry at the beach bar. The rooms are clean and the beds are comfortable. We never rent a car..it's just not necessary. The Bahai Cabana restaurant is just across the street - it is good, inexpensive and alot of fun. There are plenty of shops and restaurants that are just a 10 minute walk away or a $5 water taxi ride away. The beach is wonderful and I have no problem paying for clean lounge chairs and cabanas to sit under. Hey, at night they are free and available to sit on the beach and watch the stars and the ocean. The food at the beach bar is good, the deli is a huge convenience and overall, it is the perfect place for a few days of R & R.
