Two weeks prior to our May 12th wedding, I called to make reservations, I explained that we were getting married on the beach at the Sheraton Yankee Clipper, and asked for a early check-in, I was told that check-in was at 3:00 p.m., but that due to our evening wedding that we could check-in between 1:00 and 2:00 p.m., this was great for us. We arrive at the hotel at 2:00 p.m., used the valet service, arrived at the check-in desk with lugage (wedding dress ect.) in hand, only to be greeted by a very rude young woman behind the desk, she informed us that check-in time was at 3:00 p.m., we explained our situation and that we had requested the earlier time, she said that we could wait, she took our cell phone number and said that they would call when we could check in, we check back at the desk every hour, (because they were not calling), only for her to be very rude each time. At 5:30 p.m. we meet with our wedding official in the lobby, because we still were not in our room, she went upstairs and spoke to someone that she knew in the office, and was told that the room had been ready for sometime. We get into our room at 6:00 p.m. at that point in a rush for our wedding. Our room was very average, stuffy, wet carpet in spots. Not what we expected for this hotel, we had stayed there before, so we trusted this hotel, but our feelings have completely changed, we stay in Ft Lauderdale about twice a month, and will not used this hotel again.
