We stayed here for a few nights (Jan 20-23) before setting sail on our cruise. Older, historical building. We had requested a king bed with a city view but ended up with two doubles and a view of the roof (we tried to change but the hotel was completely booked). Our room was in the older south building.
Location was hard to beat - one of the few "beachside" hotels that are actually on the beach (this and the Marriott next door) - the rest are across the street. Easy access, very spacious beach. $$$ for just about everything though - chair, cabana.
Room was pretty average - lower in quality compared to other Sheratons. On the small side, but clean. Beds were comfy enough. They claimed it was one of Sheraton's awesome Sweet Sleeper Beds but I'm not convinced it was.
Service was generally very good, especially the concierge - very helpful.
So it seems we was generally happy (which we were) so why only 3 stars? My 3 star rating is based on comparing this hotel to other hotels of this caliber (as it's not fair to compare it to a Best Western) - and compared to otehr Sheratons, it was very average.
