It was a pleasure to stay at this hotel. The staff were genuinely helpful and the facilities were excellent.

My wife and I stayed at the Yankee Clipper from Aug 6-10. We checked in a little early and headed to our room in one of the three buildings. The front desk and bellhop were very nice and eager to help. Our room was supposed to have an area view, but all we saw was a huge airconditioning unit. The decor was modern and the bed was GREAT! Unfortunately, we shared our room with a family of flying ants. (at least 20) The resturant was very good as was the room service. There was little view from either pool and the gym was dissapointing. In addition, there is a $5 a day charge to rent beach lounges. When in Ft Lauderale you must visit Las Olas Riverfront and The Beach Place shopping center. Both provide good evironment and food. FYI, we did not vist the Double Tree Hotel but it looks very nice from the street. Goodluck!!!

The basic rooms with a full size bed are clean but small. It was nice to be right on the beach. If you rent a car (which you really need to), good luck with the parking! The spots in the parking garage were spaced to accomodate a Geo Metro, not anything larger. You have the occasional moron that took up 2 parking spaces because they couldn't navigate the Lincoln Town Car.

Didn't eat at the restaurant.

The pool was nice, but nothing special.

Would I return to this Hotel? Absolutely not. The Double Tree Guest Suites is a much much better choice!

The Yankee Clipper was great. I was a little on the nervous side at first. The other hotels in the area looked worn down. So of course when i pulled up i was shocked to see such a beautiful hotel. The hotel was so big. The velet parking attendants were very pleasant. Check in was quick. On the way up to the room the bell boy informed us of all the great things going on. Our room was next to the main pool. How cool was that? Take a swim anytime just steps away from the room. Room service came the same time everyday (8am), you don't have to wait around or call to make sure someone showed up. She was very quick. The beach fornt bar hot the best Daquri's ever. Believe me it's worth the $6.00. If you don't want to eat in the hotel. Go to the Quarterdeck or Hooters,Sloopy Joes @the beach place. I'm telling you my week long stay was great. I'll be back for 2 wks in November. I didn't get the chance to go on the Jungle Boat (which is down the street) so many great places nearby and so little time to enjoy.
