The bellboy dropped my laptop computer and caused damage. The hotel and their incompetent insurance carrier (Wausau) refused to act prudently. While they fully admit the accident happened (it's on videotape), they deny paying a small claim because I can't prove that's what caused the damage. They didn't act like the proud, service organization they portray. As for the hotel, many rooms are actually across from the hotel, on the opposite side of the street from the ocean, and are a good 5-10 minute walk from your room to the beach. Food and drinks are extremely overpriced and there are many better deals and hotels in Fort Lauderdale, I have found, since I am visiting at least once per month. Sour grapes? You bet! It is totally unreasonable how they acted. GM James Pancallo wouldn't return personal phone calls and referred everything to the insurance company, who was even more brutal.
