This hotel is in a really good spot. It's directly on the beach, probably the widest and most family-oriented part of the strip. The hotel has two pools, one of which is just steps from the beach. There is a bar next to that pool and a place to get food (they even barbeque there). I rented a car and self-parked it, which I thought was more convenient. It only cost $7.00 a day. (The hotel is five minutes from the airport) You are walking distance to the hot spots on the strip, where there are many restaurants, hotels and bars to enjoy. I would suggest walking because parking can be a problem. Getting back to the hotel.....Upon first driving up to it, I was disappointed. The hotel is old, but well kept. They were painting the buildings while I was there (there are many buildings). The main lobby surprised me. It's very small and not impressive, but, my room, which was on the 11th floor (top floor) was a really nice room. My view of the marina was really beautiful, especially at night, and the bed was the MOST comfortable bed I've slept in yet. It's worth staying here just for the bed. The restaurant has very, very good food, and there is outdoor dining if that's what you prefer. There are two bars in the lobby area and a 24-hour deli (more like a convenience shop) which actually was very convenient. I probably said more than I needed to say about the Clipper, but, if you're as picky as I am and depend upon these reviews, like I do, then hopefully you will get the picture. This hotel is really one of the nicest, all around. I'll definitely return. Hope this helped.

Sub-Sheraton quality, dilapidated, run-down Dive

My husband & I stayed here 2nts mid-Jan 2004 and we couldn't get out fast enough. This place is definitely NOT a beach resort, but a tired, old, dilapidated & run down DUMP. I'm shocked that Sheraton would allow their name to be affiliated with this sub-standard dive!! The woman who owns this place needs to put some serious bucks into fixup. Everywhere the hotel stunk/smelled old from stale water damage. Aesthetically its worn, dated, no hi-speed internet...a truly SAD picture, and all for $200+ per night. The buffet breakfast was 2nd rate, not what you'd expect for a quality beach resort. Don't let anyone talk you into staying at this pathetic 'Has Been'. My advice: RUN THE OTHER WAY AS FAST AS YOU CAN!!!!

JANUARY 30, 2004. my husband and i and our 2 children stayed at the sheraton yankee clipper after our royal caribbean cruise vacation ended. the hotel is very nice. located directly on the beach with many extra activities to do. $65 for 1/2 hour jet ski. they also have parasailing and sailing. if you want a beach chair they charge $5. i'd save your money and just use the beach towel they give you at the pool area. the room was spacious and very clean. all in all a very nice hotel. i would definately go back. you need a taxi to get to just about anywhere so bring lots of $$. don't forget all those tips.

I stayed with my wife and another couple at the SYC pre-cruise 10-24-03. I had read about the property being dated and so forth. I found that to be true, but the property was in good shape just not modern. We had a wonderful time and would love to go there and stay for a vacation. I was pleased with the parking garage, and room was very clean and nice. The location is very good, being right on the beach and within walking distance of several places to eat and shop. I am hoping to stay there once again next December on another pre-cruise but this time I will book two nights instead of one. I don't hesitate to recommend this property!

This is a very nice, upscale hotel. It is in a great location-close to the shops and dining as well as right on the beach. They have a parking garage that has easy access to the hotel. This hotel could be somewhat overwhelming because it is huge but there was plenty of room in the pools and on the beach. Both pools are very nice and clean. I recommended The Yankee Clipper! The Yankee Trader is connected but it is not as close to the beach! This hotel is good for families as well as couples or spring breakers.
