Went there in 8/07 for a girls' getaway for a week and it was a great stay. We stayed at the Sheraton Yankee Clipper which was a very nice hotel, decently priced, private beach area that was never congested with people and service was great (except they really could use more towels). The nice thing about Ft. Lauderdale was that it is a very peaceful getaway with nice restaurants and attractions but if you are looking for nightlife you can go to the Riverfront section which has a nice strip of bars and nightclubs you can go in and out of (no cover and ladies' night at any place Wed. on!!) It is dead on Sundays though but Miami Beach is only 30 minutes away. Overall, a nice place, suggest you rent a car. We were very sad to go!!

My family and I stayed at this hotel in July 07, The rooms are very spacious and clean and the hotel is very near to the beach. would recommend it to others.

The hotel was just an average hotel, clean and well maintained. It was very nice considering it was on the beach. The pool was small, but having the hotel on the beach was an excellent plus. The staff was friendly. Beach chairs were free but they did charge $10.00 to rent an umbrella on the beach. They had a bar/cafe on the beach which was nice. The have a munchie shop that is open throughout the night.

The check in was somewhat smooth. They had to go check to see if my room was ready. Probably because I had left notes in the reservation that I wanted it deep cleaned and all the linens includin the bedspread to be changed. I was very nervous about staying here. Yes it is very old and the public areas are cheesey and probably could be gutted. When we got to our room on the 5th floor (SPG Floor) we opened the door and we had been upgraded to a one bedroom suite. The ones that are on the corner of the building unless a good rate. So overall a nice stay, but probably would not go back. I did check out the St Regis and would love to stay there one time.
