Stayed here one night precruise 12/16. Arrived in the evening and had some difficulty crossing the causeway because of the boat parade. Had to hang out at the Embassy Suites and get a second cab to get there. The hotel is older and across the street from the beach. No food was available at 9pm. I walked each way but it is not near anything. The next day my cousin met me for breakfast which was disappointing and pricey. The room was okay but the elevators are very slow and there were quite a few meetings there. I got this for $79 on priceline. I do not feel it is a 3* property. I was able to take the Sun Bus to the Publix--this was convenient as is the Water Taxi. This place is ok for families on a budget that want a beach location. In the future I would stay on 17th St.

The hotel is old and needs some updates but the locaton was great as well as the staff. Real no issues nice pool deck with view of the marina, better landscaping would have been nice but again just my thoughts. Room was very spacious and clean and that is what you look for in a hotel.

Stayed at the Bahia Mar overnight for a business trip. The rooms, and the hotel itself, are very dated with very bright colors and very little in the way of comforts which you would expect in an oceanfront resort. The resort itself is very chopped up and difficult to find your way around. I also found the staff to be largely disinterested in their jobs. Finally, I was surprised by the $10-$15 per night parking charge which was not advertised. The resort does have one redeeming quality-a great view of the marina and the incredible boats there, especially if you get a south facing room. I think in the future I would choose one of the hotels further north. They seem to have nicer beaches and better proximity to downtown Ft. Lauderdale.

We were leary of booking this hotel as it had some poor reviews. However, the room was decorated nicely and was very clean. The bed had high thread count sheets and was a little hard but comfortable. The room had all the amenties that one would require. The bathroom needed brighter lights and could be renovated but was very clean even though it was small. All the employees were very friendly and helpful. It appeared that the hotel is making an effort to please customers and customers should fill out the comment cards. The location across from the beach and within walking distance to restaurants, water taxi, fishing fleet, stores, etc. cannot be beat. This is not a deluxe hotel by any means but is worth the price.
