we stayed here sept 5 2005. The service and staff was excellent. very frendly and responded to requests immediately. The location is excellent, easy beach access and walking distance to entertainment and restaurants. The hotel is beautiful, the work out room is fabulous, the pool is very nice although you cannot see the beach from the pool, as it is on the second floor level, even though it is outdoors. The only flaw in the hotel is the carpeting, which iis a bit worn, needs cleaning and replacement, but overall we had a terrific time and would definately stay at this hotel again.

My husband and I stayed at the Bahia Mar Resort Sept. 1st and 2nd before our cruise on Princess. We got it on Priceline and were a little apprehensive since it has gotten mixed reviews. However, we were very pleasantly surprised. Check-in and check-out was very easy. We didn't give them a credit card, so they requested a $100 deposit at check-in. We received this back with no problems at check-out. All of the employees we talked with or passed were very friendly and helpful. We were given a room on the 15th floor with a view of the ocean and harbor. We could not see the cruise ships from our hotel. If you want to be able to see them, I would suggest the Marriott or Hyatt hotels. Our room was very clean and spacious. We had a king size bed, non-smoking room. The bed was very comfortable. This hotel is at a very good location since it is right next to the water bus (taxi) and only a few steps away from the beach. We took the water bus on the south route to the Las Olas restaurant area for lunch and ate at Max's Grille where they have a $3.99 lunch menu. Almost all of the restaurants there had buy-one-get-one free offers for lunch. We walked down to a 7-Eleven a couple of times for drinks, snacks, etc. since it is within viewing distance of the Bahia Mar. The walkway that leads to the beach over the A1A Highway is also really nice. We had biscuits and gravy ($1.25) along with two sausage biscuit sandwiches for breakfast at the little deli next door. They were very good. We ordered pizza for dinner from Big Louie's Pizzaria on the 17th St. Causeway. They delivered it for free. We had a free coupon from the entertainment.com website for a buy-one-get-one free pizza offer. We ordered a small and got another free, what a deal! It was really good. I would highly recommend this hotel. If you have any questions, please e-mail me. Hope this helps!

We stayed at the Bahia Mar for Labor Day weekend and encountered none of the problems we feared reading in other reviews. This hotel was definitely at least a 3 or 3 1/2 star experience with a remarkably comfortable bed, excellent shower and beautiful view and outstanding value from the marina view side with bonus balcony (ask for this option for best value because the room was great and you can see the ocean too if you get one of the ones with a balcony; maybe this building is better than the other). The room looks *just* like all the pictures posted under candid photos. The location cannot be beat because it is close to the restaurants and shops along the water and has a pedestrian walkway across A1A directly between your hotel room hallway to an excellent stretch of sand. The room was clean and we were ecstatic. We saw no reason to use the mini bar or on site restaurant because they were expensive but there are plenty of other options. Parking was great with in and out privileges for 10.00 plus tax (!) (but room price was so low who cares about the parking). Didn't like that the doors slam to both hallway and rooms or that check-in is 4pm and check out 11 am but they give you a parking pass and pool pass if you come early and allowed us to extend our stay to 1pm. They were very nice people.

My girlfriend I stayed at the Bahia Mar September 2, 2005. Starting off with the hotel lobby everything was looking good, the front desk was dealing with complaints right off the bat which made me nervous already. I booked a Courtyard room but was upgraded to an Ocean front view room for no additional cost, which was great considering I only paid $59 for the room to beign with. I requested a king size but recieved to doubles which was really crappy but they made up for it with complimentary breakfast which they had a security officer deliver vouchers in about 10 mins. folloning my dicussion with the night manager. The hotel itself was def. nothing special...If I would have paid for a ocean front view I would have been pissed. The room was not to big, beds average, clean enough but not spotless. And the prices are crazy, 4 dollars for a snicker bar so stay away from the snack bar in your room, tell them you dont want that key. The location is great though, right across from the beach with a private walkway across A1A. Las Olas is right in front, cant beat the location. A continental breakfast will run you 12 dollars to start up to 18 so I would reccomend eating at a reastuaunt on the beach for a good breakfast for the same price. All in all the hotel was ok but the service was there. The attempts to accomodate their mistakes is what made the hotel and the fact it was 59 dollars (plus 10 for parking 15 for valet automatically added to the bill) Had I payed 120 for the ocean front then theres no chance it would have been worth that. So in other words if you can get a deal then go for it, if not go somewhere else.
