My husband and I stayed at the Bahia Mar Resort Sept. 1st and 2nd before our cruise on Princess. We got it on Priceline and were a little apprehensive since it has gotten mixed reviews. However, we were very pleasantly surprised. Check-in and check-out was very easy. We didn't give them a credit card, so they requested a $100 deposit at check-in. We received this back with no problems at check-out. All of the employees we talked with or passed were very friendly and helpful. We were given a room on the 15th floor with a view of the ocean and harbor. We could not see the cruise ships from our hotel. If you want to be able to see them, I would suggest the Marriott or Hyatt hotels. Our room was very clean and spacious. We had a king size bed, non-smoking room. The bed was very comfortable. This hotel is at a very good location since it is right next to the water bus (taxi) and only a few steps away from the beach. We took the water bus on the south route to the Las Olas restaurant area for lunch and ate at Max's Grille where they have a $3.99 lunch menu. Almost all of the restaurants there had buy-one-get-one free offers for lunch. We walked down to a 7-Eleven a couple of times for drinks, snacks, etc. since it is within viewing distance of the Bahia Mar. The walkway that leads to the beach over the A1A Highway is also really nice. We had biscuits and gravy ($1.25) along with two sausage biscuit sandwiches for breakfast at the little deli next door. They were very good. We ordered pizza for dinner from Big Louie's Pizzaria on the 17th St. Causeway. They delivered it for free. We had a free coupon from the entertainment.com website for a buy-one-get-one free pizza offer. We ordered a small and got another free, what a deal! It was really good. I would highly recommend this hotel. If you have any questions, please e-mail me. Hope this helps!
