The very friendly desk upgraded me to a 15th floor partial ocean view with refrigerator. Restaurant and bar services, though limited, were very high quality and excellent friendly service. This hotel is scheduled to be partly replaced and remodeled, and then it will truly be a magnificent property.

The pool and workout area are large, and there is a walkway over the street straight to the beach, with a circuit training setup at the walkway.
Restaurants and shops are an easy walk, as it is located at the south end of the public beach.

Arrived on July 1 and was in line to check-in. The couple checking in had were trying to check in on their name but it was booked using other travelers names. Those people were standing behind me and immediately jumped the line. The desk person then allowed them to check in 3 other families that were on the one name prolonging my time in line. Then, I was informed by the desk person that construction was taking place. No where on the website does it mention about construction. Desk person said it was an emergency. Well, it was obvious it was a planned event as people were hammer drilling along the southwest corner of the building for days.

The bed was awesome, firm clean and big. very comfortable.
Elevators are slow.
Then, while trying to get a drink and a snack during happy hour at the pool, a storm came through and the place was closed for the whole day.
So, we went to the hotel bar and hoped they would honor the happy hour menu and they wouldnt.
The manager, Glen gave us a good deal after I complained about a trip there in May, so, we decided to give them another chance. He gave us a great rate, however the last time we got a $50 voucher to use for food, parking or other things in the hotel, so, it wasnt really a good rate at all. this time no voucher.
If I was in a pinch and needed to stay there again, I would. I wouldnt make it my primary place though.

We went to Ft. Lauderdale a day early for a cruise and had a wonderful and relaxing stay at the Bahia Mar. It is just across the street from the ocean and is surrounded by marinas. It is a short walk to a delightful restaurant on the in-land waterways. They have a beautiful outside pool with a bar and an exercise room.

Booked into Bahia Mar over three days in July 09 with family, as two late teens in family took two rooms. Spacious parking at the hotel although this is charged at $18 per night -but seems to be the norm in Fort Lauderdale

Front desk staff very helpful in sorting out rooms ensuring we managed to get rooms very close together, both rooms were standard rooms. Rooms very comfortable and spacious with fantastic views over the ocean and the canal networks and cleaners did a great job every day with towels and bedding etc.

Service at bar great and although we decided not to eat at the main hotel restaurant -solely because we wanted to explore Las Olas Avenue a bit more - we can not praise the on site deli shop enough. We used it for snacks, breakfast and lunches and found the quality of the food and the variation on offer to be fantastic - remember -because we forgot until reminded by the deli staff you get free coffee refills.

The pool was great and although busy there were always spare recliners available and it was a great way to cool off. Pool bar good as was the daily special drinks and food snacks. Location right next to the beach and within $7-$8 taxi ride of downtown excellent. Onsite laundry was also found to be useful during our stay.

We enjoyed evening walks along the front and stopped a couple of times at Bubba Gumps for food -we all thought it was a good hotel and would certainly stay there again if visiting Fort Lauderdale

The staff at Bahia Mar went out of their way to accomodate the large party of 13 in our group. We had stayed for two days prior to leaving on a cruise. We found the location to be excellent and the staff exceeded our expectations. It was a great mini vacation before the cruise. They even allowed us to rent a room for the day on our return trip as our flight was in the evening. The rate was very reasonable and we were able to use all the amenities for the day before our return trip home. Highly recommend a stay.

Stayed at the Bahia Mar late june early july for 4 days with my wife and 2 kids. Check-in-out were seemless, beach & pool were fab, the room was a bit dated but at the price we paid it was well worth it. We had a partial view of the sea and intercoastal on the 14th floor. Had food at the bar one evening with a few beers, barman was friendly but closed when he ran out of customers, usually around 10pm. Water taxi at 50 bucks for 3 adults and 1 kid was expensive, but what i find most annoying is being touted for tips, not just on the water taxi but everywhere we went in Florida. The server in Buba Gumps was extatic when i gave her 20 bucks on a 100 dollar meal wheras the guy in the Cheesecake factory turned up his nose at 15% of a meal for 127 dollars. A guy wont let you take your luggage out of taxi, put it on a bus or even park your car without putting his hand out....Ah well thats the steam being let off !!!!. The bahia mar was a very pleasant few days at a very good price. No complaints, only the coffe maker hadn't been cleaned out and when I turned it on it stunk the room. Location was perfect , parking was expensive and bothersome, and the location was everything.
