The hotel is excellently placed near the sea, with its own skywalk to the beach and its pool. While we were there, staff were very friendly, polite and helpful. The restaurant was okay and the deli very useful for snacks if you wanted to buy an inexpensive breakfast, for instance. Staff were very courteous and our room in the tower had a fantastic view of the beach and boats. Everything was clean and tidy as you would expect.
The hotel is very near to the water taxi offices and these are well worth going on to see 'up river', taking in all the huge yachts and expensive homes by the river.
It is also good to walk up the beach and see all the restaurants and bars overlooking the beach and palm trees and stop for a meal or drink or walk up to the lively Beach centre, with its live music in the evening.
We were here for just over a week and would definitely go again.

This was the worst room I have ever seen, and forget about the $189.00 they charged. We had a reservation for a non-smoking room, we had to lug all our luggage accross the parking lot to an adjacent building that reeked of mold, mildew, and smoke. The room was so dirty, hairs, stains, and so much dust, and smelled of smoke. It hadn't been cleaned in weeks. We lug every thing back to the front desk, and the clerk gives us a hard time about changing the room, we get another room which is clean, but a smelly smokers room. We had to catch a cruise ship the next day so we stayed the night , because it was really late. I will never stay there or recommend this hotel. Needs a huge renovation and cleaning. The website on the hotel is not accurate.

My wife and I stayed at the Radisson Bahia Mar for the second time in January this year, our first visit was during the Christmas holidays 2003.
On both occasions we enjoyed our stay at the hotel. We managed to get a reasonable room rate, with a good room (in the main tower) and breakfast included ($13 each value). We were even given a free day pass on the water taxi on our first visit ($5 each value).
The hotel is well located next to a nice section of the beach, and there is also a deli next door where you can get a coffee or a sandwich.
You are right next door to the water taxi base, from where you can get to most of the major attractions in the area, and these are definitely a must. If you are staying a week it is well worth purchasing a 7day pass (about $20 I think).
Our only complaint was attitude some of the staff in the resturant during breakfast. One in particular was very miserable. This is probably something to do with our free breakfast entitlement (the vouchers include gratuity, therefore the waiter must think that there is no need to be polite and friendly). Apart from this we have very much enjoyed our time at the Bahia Mar and will hopefully be visiting again this coming Christmas holiday.

I had booked this hotel through priceline & I was given this hotel at 120 a nite including tax(with priceline you can not pick the hotel, they give it to you). I read the reviews on here and elsewhere before heading down & I was so apprehensive....This is a top notch THREE star hotel..not 4 or 5 star,so don't expect high ammenties...I have stayed at 4 other 3 star hotels on Fort Lauderdale beach & this is the best..we were given a room in the tower facing the cruise ships,marina,beach & pool..so that was just an added surprise , because I would have been just as happy being in the annex , which a part of(the annex) overlooks the parking lot,because some of THOSE rooms actually have balconies...the tower DOES NOT.....and who the heck is sitting in the room anyway,you're out on the beach or their great heated pool......it's(the hotel) situated right in the middle of the pool & beach....so it's hard to make the decision which way to go....the staff is PHENOMENAL!!.......there is only one thing I found lacking....is that the housekeeping just didn't do a great job, just an adequate job in cleaning our room..but I'm a clean freak and go in & clean anyway after her!! :-).....the food is so -so at the hotel......we had a car, so my brother & I mostly ate at Lester's diner(you can get the adress from the lobby.15 minutes away...I have been going here fore over 15 years)...they have the most incredible breakfast & the lunch & dinners are also great & cheap-cheap!.we ordered room service once & that was 63 dollars.we could have eaten three meals for two at Lesters from soup to desert....anyway I hope Priceline gives me this hotel again in March because it's a GEM!!!!!!!!!..just remember you're staying at a three star hotel...you want a four star..stay at the marriot spa on the beach across the street.they charge a minimum of 400 dollars a night but it's real nice...walk over on the beach & have lunch there..i hope this helped someone out there who was in the same predicament as I..........Cheers!!!Tony
