Checked in, woman at front desk stated she had us down for two rooms. I only prepaid for one. After reading the reviews of this place, I took a chance ONLY because Expedia had a special, stay 3 nights, 4th night free so it worked out to be only 104 a night. Oceanfront location for that price is unheard of so I bit. They bit back. I called Expedia and they were VERY helpful thank god. The problem was with the Radisson trying to double bill us, that was straghtened out. The room was a DISGRACE. Marina bldg, which i heard was old, but paint peeling off the walls, a six foot section of carpeting that had been glued to the wall bout 4 inches off the floor was lying on the rest of the carpet, and the worst, was the sheets. One of the beds, the sheets exposed on the bottom was shredded. It was if someone took a knife to the sheets. I am not kidding. and some genius saw it, and attempted to tie it into a bow to make it presentable instead of replace it. No lie, the worst hotel room I have ever seen in my life. I called back expedia, told them the problem, they called the front desk for me then i headed to the front desk where i had to verbally battle the woman for what for seemed forever to get a room in the tower. First she wanted to put me in another room in the marina. I told her, i just saw about fifty high school kids acting up in the lobby of the marian bldg, she stated it was a swim team and if the kids were acting up, just speak with the coach. I told her its not for me to speak with the coach thats up to u. then she offered a room on a smoking floor in the tower after i told her one of my family members with me was allergic. " Well go up and check it out, sometimes the smell is not so bad" I went up to check, the smell was bad and on the elevator i got in converstation with a another guest who had the SAME experience the night before when he checked in! He had to fight to get out of the Marina bldg and to the Tower. The woman at the front desk was so uncaring, she obvioulsy had to listen to the same complaints all the time and become numb to it all. Finally after telling her i worked in a hotel before, i am going to write this blah blah, she gave us a room 5th floor tower. Bigger room, bits of the carpet coming up by the bathroom floor, the fridge empty, u kniow the one they fill with booze and charge u an arm and a leg if u take one, and the WORST the sliding bathroom door... had a cut about 14 inches long across the width of it. It looked like someone took a circular saw to it. At that point i gave up, called them and said listen, im numb at this point, my kids are tired, i cant move again, made them aware of the empty fridge so i wouldnt get charged for removing something that was never there, and told them about the door. The bellman was great, dont recall his name, glasses, from Lebanon. He was horrified by the rooms! He stated he would talk to the manager for me and at least get my parking free for the week which he did. the front desk manager called, i never called him back, to upset., tyring to have a hoiday my blood was boiling. the pool was great, billard table, ping pong, great weight room all the equipment u need. the woman that worked there was a sweetheart, went out of her way to ask how everything was going. waitress at the bar never asked us if we needed anything. breakfast was overpriced. bellman were good. hertz rental car was great tip- take cab from airport get rental from them much cheaper, actually fifty percent cheaper! they rob u at airport with fees etc.. the deli was good. we left a day early. Basicly its a motel, trying to be a hotel. the bellman and the woman at the pool should work somewhere nicer like the marriot so they dont have to listen to guests like me that had a terrible time. eat at bahia cabana next door, the best grilled mahi sandwich in the world.
