I recently stayed at the Radisson Bahia Marr in Fort Lauderdale and thoroughly enjoyed my stay. The room was a typical hotel room with hairdryer internet access coffee maker, but the cordless phone was a cool addtion to the room. The pool area is nice and sunny all day long and the beach is driectly in front of the hotel. Was awesome to walk the docks and see all of the big boats. They had a great little deli with nice big subs. The breakfast buffet had lots of choice and was priced about $13, not too bad for what they had offered. Overall, we had a great time and their employees were actually very friendly. I would stay there again and recommend it. Two thumbs up!!!

I cannot remember a worse experience at a hotel. The bell service was gone at the time of our arrival and we were directed by the staff to use the walkway that connects the 2 buildings....they forgot to mention that there were 3 sets of stairs involved (yes, we had luggage). After dragging bags all over the hotel, we arrived at a room (smoking) that smelled like the bottom of a used ashtray. The room was miniscule and dingy (and smelled) and the upgraded marina view included the parking lot. Not a view worthy of upgrade status. When we checked out the following morning, the parking attendant would not let my husband leave the lot without paying (while I was inside and had already paid) When I went back to the desk to get a refund, the desk clerk called the booth and told him to give me my money back...then she proceeded to instruct me to walk back to the booth and get the money from him. The worst customer service ever....felt like I was on spring break again.....

First, ditto to the above reviews re: stained carpets, dingy rooms, and motel-like feel. Second, beware of parking a car (valet parking mandatory at time of stay). Valet caused $375 damage to rental car on final night. At time, said they would take care of it, then recanted when contacted by Avis. Had to pay damages out of my own pocket to avoid ruined credit rating. Called manager Kris Bohte at Bahia Mar who said she would look into resolving the incident. Never heard back -- multiple messages never returned. Please don't let this happen to you.

Checked in, woman at front desk stated she had us down for two rooms. I only prepaid for one. After reading the reviews of this place, I took a chance ONLY because Expedia had a special, stay 3 nights, 4th night free so it worked out to be only 104 a night. Oceanfront location for that price is unheard of so I bit. They bit back. I called Expedia and they were VERY helpful thank god. The problem was with the Radisson trying to double bill us, that was straghtened out. The room was a DISGRACE. Marina bldg, which i heard was old, but paint peeling off the walls, a six foot section of carpeting that had been glued to the wall bout 4 inches off the floor was lying on the rest of the carpet, and the worst, was the sheets. One of the beds, the sheets exposed on the bottom was shredded. It was if someone took a knife to the sheets. I am not kidding. and some genius saw it, and attempted to tie it into a bow to make it presentable instead of replace it. No lie, the worst hotel room I have ever seen in my life. I called back expedia, told them the problem, they called the front desk for me then i headed to the front desk where i had to verbally battle the woman for what for seemed forever to get a room in the tower. First she wanted to put me in another room in the marina. I told her, i just saw about fifty high school kids acting up in the lobby of the marian bldg, she stated it was a swim team and if the kids were acting up, just speak with the coach. I told her its not for me to speak with the coach thats up to u. then she offered a room on a smoking floor in the tower after i told her one of my family members with me was allergic. " Well go up and check it out, sometimes the smell is not so bad" I went up to check, the smell was bad and on the elevator i got in converstation with a another guest who had the SAME experience the night before when he checked in! He had to fight to get out of the Marina bldg and to the Tower. The woman at the front desk was so uncaring, she obvioulsy had to listen to the same complaints all the time and become numb to it all. Finally after telling her i worked in a hotel before, i am going to write this blah blah, she gave us a room 5th floor tower. Bigger room, bits of the carpet coming up by the bathroom floor, the fridge empty, u kniow the one they fill with booze and charge u an arm and a leg if u take one, and the WORST the sliding bathroom door... had a cut about 14 inches long across the width of it. It looked like someone took a circular saw to it. At that point i gave up, called them and said listen, im numb at this point, my kids are tired, i cant move again, made them aware of the empty fridge so i wouldnt get charged for removing something that was never there, and told them about the door. The bellman was great, dont recall his name, glasses, from Lebanon. He was horrified by the rooms! He stated he would talk to the manager for me and at least get my parking free for the week which he did. the front desk manager called, i never called him back, to upset., tyring to have a hoiday my blood was boiling. the pool was great, billard table, ping pong, great weight room all the equipment u need. the woman that worked there was a sweetheart, went out of her way to ask how everything was going. waitress at the bar never asked us if we needed anything. breakfast was overpriced. bellman were good. hertz rental car was great tip- take cab from airport get rental from them much cheaper, actually fifty percent cheaper! they rob u at airport with fees etc.. the deli was good. we left a day early. Basicly its a motel, trying to be a hotel. the bellman and the woman at the pool should work somewhere nicer like the marriot so they dont have to listen to guests like me that had a terrible time. eat at bahia cabana next door, the best grilled mahi sandwich in the world.

We have spend 3 nights in the RBMR in October 04. Hotel outfit is basically ok, but we found the amosphere too cool,
in the sense of atmosphere. The only personal contacts we had were mainlly negative: check in and breakfast staff was ok and friendly, nightly technical service due to some internet acces problems apperared immediately, BUT the treatment we received from the room service and the valet parking people (1 chap especially) was below 0 rating. The USA turned into a police state which these kind of "service" people
feel also to be their job.
