I stayed at the Bahia Mar during a conference, booking the room from the conference web site. Service was exceedingly slow at the front desk. They wouldn't allow the conference center shuttle into the parking lot, so guests had to wait on the street--a problem because of high winds. There is wireless access in the main building lobby and first floor only. Cable access in the rooms was $9.95/day. I had a lovely harborfront room, but during the night there was a very loud party with a live band playing across the harbor. Evidently, the group sponsoring the party had a permit, so the front desk informed me that nothing could be done. When I requested a room change, they balked and said that I would be charged extra. I eventually went down the front desk and they did allow a room change without the fee, but only after I requested to speak to a manager. For $180/day, I was less than impressed with the service.

I stayed at the Bahia Mar Resort in Ft. Lauderdale Beach over the weekend. I just want to start by saying that I got a great deal on their website. My expections were very high considering I spent less than 100 dollars on the room, but I was pleasantly surprised when I arrived. I got there ealry and there was no problem checking in. The hotel has a Ocean and Marina view, its less than a mile to Las Olas Blvd and to the Beach Place. The rooms were very nice and spacious. If fishing is your sport, this is the place for you. Bahia Mar is right on the marina so you have so many different choices when it comes to fishing and boating excursions. There was a party fishing boat that was only 30 dollars per person for 4 hours. There is a coupon book you can get from the lobby. I highly recommend using it, there is alot of great coupons for restaurants and entertainment. Overall this is a really great hotel for a great price and I would definitely return.

We had great service. the price for oceanview was very reasonable and we have stayed at a lot of oceanfront hotels. The bridge to the beach is a great idea. We went for a wedding reception and the room was beautiful and the food was awesome. Would definitely go again.

we stayed here for 3 nights to enjoy the beach and do some shopping !! We got a great deal through travelzoo and from the start we were impressed by the friendliness of the staff . The hotel is comfortable if a little old fashioned. there is a walkway to the beach and a good size swimming pool which was a bit cool for us and the surrounds could do with some updating. The public areas are clean and good , the restaurant and bar are perfectly acceptable but not very inspiring. I would recommend this hotel for pre cruise , or slightly longer . Car parking is $18 a night which compares well with the surrounding alternatives , but should be less for residents !!
