Just had a weekend stay at The Bahia Mar Beach Resort, with our kids. The Hotel was very comfortable and the hotel staff was great . It was perfect ,and had everything i needed to keep the children happy, it is located right across from the Fort Lauderdale beach, so i had a choice of pool and beach, a great deli on site which severed great sandwich at a great price. The Hotel is on a Marina so we also took advantage of a fishing trip and than a tour of Fort Lauderdale.
The Hotel had a small downstairs lounge where we where able to grab breakfast and dinner, I enjoyed the food they served very traditional and server was very nice.
I give my experence there 2 thumbs up and if anyone needs a great place to stay i would highly recommend staying there

The Bahia Mar was an amazing hotel! I dont understand the bad reviews given to this place! It makes me think that people who do not like this place must have a hard time enjoying anything or can never be satisfied. I initially booked to stay at another hotel in Ft. Lauderdale but after reading horrible reviews I booked the Bahia Mar at short notice. Boy, was I glad I did. It is a 3 star hotel but I think it could be better than that! I had a perfect ocean view room that gave me a wonderful view of both the spectacular beach and the breathtaking marina. The room was clean, neat, up to date, and the beds are the most comfortable thing I have ever slept in. The staff are incredibly nice and helpful and will do anything to accomodate you. The beach is beautiful and the pool was the most fun part of our trip! The pool has a bar and resturant that serves up the most wonderful food and drinks for a great price. I noticed people complained that they paid 4 dollars for a drink in a plastic cup, COME ON! First of all, you are not allowed anywhere to have drinks around the pool that are glass. They always have to be in plastic cups. AAAND, its [--] florida! things are going to be expensive! Bahia Mar offers all kinds of activites such as yachting, snorkeling, adventures, etc. as well as karokee, poker nights, etc. This hotel is in prime location!! About a 20 dollar cab ride from the airport, 20 dollar cab ride to down town, and 2 blocks away from Las Olas "The Venice of Fort Lauderdale" I went with 3 of my friends and we really never needed to leave the area. Just a few blocks down you've got a 7/11, shops, bars, resturants, everything. The hotel even has a little shop that sells boars head deli sandwiches, along with an array of neccities needed for a vacation! the hotel even leaves the new york times in front of your door! what more could you ask for?!? My friends and I have already made plans to visit the Bahia Mar next year.....

Bahia Mar was everything we could want in a hotel. We were looking for a place to stay close to FT. LAUDERDALE beach that would prevent us from having to drive around during Memorial Weekend. Bahia Mar's price and beach access via a little ramp, made the stay pleasurable. Our view was breathtaking (Ocean Front Room) and the cafe-type restaurants owned by the hotel were very good. It was extremely quiet, even it being such a busy weekend. My husband and I were able to do exactly what we wanted to do...relax. I did wish the pool was a little bigger, but the ambiance was great! We will stay again. Also, Melissa, the concierge really tends to all of your needs. Call her or email her if you need to plan any kind of excursion. She was great! :)

My husband and I attended our niece's wedding at the Bahia Mar. Most of the friends and family of the bride and groom stayed there. The hotel staff could not have taken better care of us. All the way from the maids to the concierge. The other guests at the hotel we spoke with all had the same positive comments about the staff. Our room overlooked the marina and we could also see the ocean. The room was sparkling clean and the beds very comfortable. The food in the restaurant was excellent and the wait staff remembered us and were very attentive. We look forward to going back for another visit at the Bahia Mar.
