Was just down for the Bills-Dolphins game and we usually stay at the Marriott on the 17th St. causeway but since it is closed for renovations our group stayed at the Bahia Mar. We were in the smaller building (not the tower) on the first floor and were very comfortable, quiet. Standard room, king bed which was very comfortable with nice pillows, I slept great! . Very clean. Absolutely no complaints. Pool area is fine with a bar/quick food area that is very good. Got crowded in the afternoon but was fine. Spent an afternoon on the beach across the street and it was very enjoyable. Water was a little cool for me this time of year so I just stood and let the waves lap my feet. Very nice. I would recommend this place. Staff was friendly and helpful. Maids left you alone if you wanted etc.
You could do a lot worse in Ft. Lauderdale, believe me!

I stayed at this resort for 2 nights with 3 more guests, it is a wonderful resort, location is excellent, specially if you are staying here before a cruise, less than 10 minutes away from port, from higher floors you can even see the ships on port, the bridge to the beach is very convenient and secure, pool and public areas are well maintained, if you want the best margaritas go the pool bar, great hotel at great value, I will definitely stay here again.

The elevator was broken and we had to use the stairs, the room smelled moldy because the carpet was damp, tjhe smoke detector was missing, upon arrival the towels were still dirty in the shower. sliding door to the balcony would not lock, the room lamp was falling over. the exit sign in the hallway was hanging down with just the wires holding it. the pool was closed.
For the price that I paid the owner should be updating this hotel

I will never stay there again, and will not recommend this hotel to anyone.

I wasn't lucky enough to stay in the main building. Air conditioning gave the room a moist feeling all the time. Bathtub was dirty and trash was on the floor when I checked in. Two days later the trash was finally picked up. During my stay I contracted pink eye, no doubt from something in the room not being cleaned sufficiently. The beach access was the highlight of the trip! The pool deck was large and close to a restroom and bar. The fitness center was very nice and had great equipment.. We were given no choice but to use the valet parking during our stay. The bellmen and restaurant staff were very nice and efficient.
