Great beach location, good service and ambiance. Nice pool but cramped sunbathing area with very uncomfortable loungers - we had to paid extra $5 a day for cushions! There are a few comfy rattan loungers with lovely cushions available but they are not in full sun & go very early in the morning! Good to have water freely available poolside & complimentary mini juices & smoothies served to you but the pool bar & restaurant area is horrid! Well the bar is ok but the seating area is a mess with unattractive tables & chairs and chaotic service. The menu is very limited, over priced and all served in plastic boxes, and they call it a restaurant! Compared to 5050 it is a joke & they should look at the Ritz Carlton South Beach for how to run casual eateries! 5050 is great we really enjoyed the tasting menu & it was good value with fab service, though the restaurant doesn't look much it is well worth trying. Breakfast was ok but with only a couple of outside tables and very slow service if you chose to sit outside, they obviously wanted you indoors which is a shame as they have a huge sea facing terrace which is used for functions. And that is one of the main problems - the Hotel feels far too corporate for a really good family holiday. Every day of our stay there were numerous events and all the lovely outdoor terraces that overlook the beach were used exclusively by these clients. There was a lovely Tipi bar on the beach, very rare in FL but this was also closed one day for a private function!! Rooms nice enough but with very small balconies. All in all we left feeling a little under whelmed as it is a rather souless hotel. However, if you want a beach hotel with more luxury than the Yankee Clipper next door, at this end of town then it is a good choice. Please email me with any questions.

My family and I stayed at the Harbor Beach Marriott prior to our cruise. It was a great choice. It is conveniently located a short drive from the airport and Port Everglades. The property is beautifully landscaped and well maintained. The pool is gorgeous and the lounge chairs are very comfortable. The hotel is right on the beach and you can watch the ships enter the port. We had an oceanfront room and I was able to see the cruise ship we were were vacationing on come into port from our balcony the morning of our departure. The rooms are well appointed and the bedding very comfortable. I wish I had more time to enjoy the hotel. I would highly recommend this hotel. It was a perfect start to our vacation.

The Harbor Beach Hotel is a very beautiful hotel but the staff is terrible! I went to the beach and pool and locked my personal items in the safe. The housekeeping cleaned our room when we went to the pool. When we got back the safe was broken into and very important documents were stolen. The hotel would not help with anything and brushed this off like it was not a big deal at all. I had to call the local police and file a report and have them investigate. Identity theft is on the rise so it is incompetent of the hotel to hire staff that would do such a terrible thing! You would not expect this to occur at a resort of this caliber. Now that my vacation is over two people are calling me up constantly saying that they are part of marriot rewards and I won 25 million dollars. Obviously this is a scheme to get my information! DO NOT STAY HERE. The hotel rooms are not safe enough to leave your personal belongings. Unless you want to lug all your stuff including laptop, jewelry etc. to the pool and beach I would not recommend this hotel!

I can't even begin to describe the GREAT time that my family and I had last week at the Marriot Harbor Resort. From day one we were constantly catered too, taken care of and shown the best time possible. The staff is absolutely amazing. They take care of you from the minute you walk in to the time you leave. They really learn about you too. We were on the elevator with a staff member that we had never seen and we got off on our floor and didn't know which way to go and he simply said "you are too the right and down the hall on the right" and we were! It was amazing that he even knew that. Seth, inparticular, who works on the pool deck and covers the beach is probably the most attentive person I've ever seen. He really cares about the guests and the kind of time they are having at the hotel. Everyday he came over to us and said hello, asked us questions about our stay and always offered us aloe for our burnt skin :). I can't thank the staff enough for making our vacation the most relaxing one we've ever had. We will definitely be back again!!!! Also the 3030 restaurant in the hotel is a great place to eat. It is pricey but you will not be dissapointed!!

This is a 5 star place period. The CEO of Marriott stays here for 2-3 weeks a year in the winter.

It equals Maui hotels in what you stay at a beachfront hotel for: the beach related activities and access. The other things like the cost of parking, wifi, restaurant quality are not why you are at a beachfront hotel. If you want low cost parking go 10 miles inland. If you want the best food go to a nearby restaurant. I went to the highest rated beachfront hotel in Maui the Grand Wailea Resort Hotel & Spa and the food was just OK. In fact Maui’s food in general is not all that good and overpriced. Are you going to skip Maui because the food is too expensive?

It has it’s own beach and related activities all right there. The rooms are fine. What more do you want? I did a lot of snorkeling at the beach and saw a variety of fish, a stingray, a barracuda, a school of 12 inch snappers, a crab, a pencil fish, etc more than I have seen anywhere else in Florida from the beach. There is also parasailing, sailing with Hobbie Cats, a bar, free water, towel service and restaurant service right from the beach. There is a locker room by the pool, if you don’t want to return to your room to change.

We had 2 different rooms a back room facing north on the 8th floor and a pool room facing south on the 12th floor with a great view. So if you just want a great beachfront hotel go there. If you want low cost parking go to motel 6.
