Great beach location, good service and ambiance. Nice pool but cramped sunbathing area with very uncomfortable loungers - we had to paid extra $5 a day for cushions! There are a few comfy rattan loungers with lovely cushions available but they are not in full sun & go very early in the morning! Good to have water freely available poolside & complimentary mini juices & smoothies served to you but the pool bar & restaurant area is horrid! Well the bar is ok but the seating area is a mess with unattractive tables & chairs and chaotic service. The menu is very limited, over priced and all served in plastic boxes, and they call it a restaurant! Compared to 5050 it is a joke & they should look at the Ritz Carlton South Beach for how to run casual eateries! 5050 is great we really enjoyed the tasting menu & it was good value with fab service, though the restaurant doesn't look much it is well worth trying. Breakfast was ok but with only a couple of outside tables and very slow service if you chose to sit outside, they obviously wanted you indoors which is a shame as they have a huge sea facing terrace which is used for functions. And that is one of the main problems - the Hotel feels far too corporate for a really good family holiday. Every day of our stay there were numerous events and all the lovely outdoor terraces that overlook the beach were used exclusively by these clients. There was a lovely Tipi bar on the beach, very rare in FL but this was also closed one day for a private function!! Rooms nice enough but with very small balconies. All in all we left feeling a little under whelmed as it is a rather souless hotel. However, if you want a beach hotel with more luxury than the Yankee Clipper next door, at this end of town then it is a good choice. Please email me with any questions.
