When we arrived at the Fort Lauderdale Grande, we were greeted by the bellman who helped us with a rather large package we wanted to keep safe; he was very friendly and helpful. We checked in at the front desk, the clerk was friendly and quick. Our room was clean, spacious and had a great view of the marina area. We sat on the private deck and enjoyed the evening. The outdoor bar area has a great atmosphere, good food and tasty drinks! The pool and hot tub area was also very nice. We did not use it, but the workout room looked well equipped with many machines and room for many to exercise comfortably. The location was close to the beach and easy to find. Our experience was a good one; if ever in the Fort Lauderdale area, I would highly recommend it.

We recently stayed at the Fort Lauderdale Grande prior to a cruise. We got a great rate through Travelzoo and had stayed there previously when it was the Marriott. The Grounds of this hotel are really beautiful and it's in a prime location. Cab fare from the airport was $15 and was $6 per person going to the port. The hotel is currently under renovation, but this did not effect our stay. The lobby and pool areas are very inviting. The bed was luxurious and so were the bathroom amenities and coffee. Our room badly needed updating. The view from our balcony was fantastic and we spent probably more time on the balcony than in other hotels. We walked a little bit and across the street to Walgreens to pick up any pre-cruise necessities. Hotel staff were very friendly. My only complaint was that the room was dirtier than I would have liked - the bedsheets were clean, but carpets and furniture badly needed some spot-cleaning and shampooing. Hallways were also dark and hot. Our A/C did not cool down to really cold temps, but we wound up opening up the balcony door as it was in the 70's while we were there at night and the fresh air was really pleasant. It was $9.99 additional for internet access.

We ate at the pool bar and food and service was good, but pricey. Breakfast buffet was $17 per person, but we just bought muffins at the Walgreens when we were there and had them with coffee in our room.

As this hotel is being renovated, it will be a real gem when it's completed. I will stay there again if the price isn't too high.

When we arrived to the hotel April 8th to the 13th...it was under construction...which was ok- the lobby was nice, the people everywhere were friendly. We stayed there 5 days and over-all it was ok..The room was clean but there was stuff broken in the room. The thing that got me was the price of everything there....19.00 to park your car PER NIGHT....10.00 for a drink in the bar....14.99 to rent a movie in your room....So i recommend if you do stay here(which you should, the location is good) go somewhere else for drinks and food... We stayed at the FL Grande pre-cruise in December. Having read some negative reviews I can only say some folk aren't happy unless they have a complaint to moan about. The service was good - the doorman in particular was very helpful, and the rooms were nicely decorated and equipped. The hotel was undergoing some refurbishment whilst we were there but this did not affect our stay in the slightest. We booked a pre-cruise package which included breakfast and transfer to the cruise port the next day. Breakfast was great with a good selection of hot and cold food and the shuttle bus transferred us smoothly to the port as arranged. We ate at the hotel's on-site boardwalk restaurant also which served a range of international dishes. The food was good and plentiful.
All in all a good hotel, conveniently located with additional extras!
Would definitely stay there again.
