The hotel offers a great location and really nice rooms. However, the main tower is under complete construction. There was plenty of parking, but it cost $15/day - pretty pricey!

My boyfriend and I stayed two nights at the Fort Lauderdale Grande prior to leaving on a cruise. The hotel was under construction but that did not affect our stay at all. The Yacht club provided gorgeous harbour views and we throughly enjoyed the many yachts to look at. It was like our own private Boat Show. The pool bar food was good and service was friendly. Prices were average. Hotel room had nice bed/bedding and room was very clean. I would rate it a 4+ star for sure. Proximity to port was great and free shuttle service was a big bonus. Lots of restaurants and shops within walking distance. I would stay here again without question. Highly recommend it!

This hotel is undergoing renovation due to a Hurricane, however we had a wonderful experience even though we had read some bad experiences here during december and january. Much has improved and when this renovation is done this will be the greatest hotel in lauderdale. The only reason I didn't rate excellent is we did have one morning when they had to turn off the electric and hot water, but by then we were off to the beach and who cares by then. The staff went out of their way to be attentive. The resturant for breakfast was nice. There were numerous resturants within walking distances on the water. The room and bed were very comfortable. the refrigerator was a surprize. the pool is gorgeous, and hot tub...no kiddie pool which I loved. We kept the tiki bar very busy and they had the greatest bartenders who were always willing to assist in recommending what to do in the area. All the food served was delicious. The water taxi was right there which brings you anywhere you need to; so don't rent a car. We didn't but there were complaints for the overnight guest parking at $22/night.

Good value from internet (travelzoo.com); however I would guess those using the internet packages automatically are placed in the older sections of the hotel. Convenient to Port. Take taxi to port if boarding a cruise line. Very convenient to water taxi up and down waterway. The evening shuttle schedule should not necessarily be trusted for designated pick up and drop off times. As the evening goes on the shuttles become crowded and off schedule somewhat. If you have a reservation to a location realize this may be a concern.

The staff bend over backwards to accomodate. A map of the facilities would be helpful in order to enjoy the amenities without having to asking the front desk for directions each time. We could not find the fitness gym and swimming pool area.
