My fiance and I stayed at the Fort Lauderdale Grande for a long weekend in November. We took advantage of the Fall Getaway special and it was an amazing deal. The hotel is gorgeous!!! Absolutely beautiful, modern, stylish, loved the lobby, pool, rooms, everything! The beds were very comfortable! We loved the bed/lounge chairs at the pool and the outdoor bar. This is a great location!! We had great views, were close to downtown and enjoyed taking the water taxi around. We would 100% come back to this hotel again and highly recommend you stay there too =)

  • Liked — The bed-like lounge chairs and the decor of the entire hotel.
  • Disliked — The China Grill was over-priced and there was no shuttle to the airport.

Great hotel with a very friendly staff. Very close to Port Everglades in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. I stayed here for a business meeting in Fort Lauderdale and was very pleased with the location. It was close to my meetings and close to the beach and activities that people visit Fort Lauderdale for. Room was very comefortable and clean, the staff was very pleasant. It is a great place to stay for business meetings or if you are just looking to get away. I will bring my wife back for a stay if we go on a cruse out of Fort Lauderdale.

  • Liked — Location, access to airport and main highways, and very near the beach

Had to stay here when attending a trade show recently. It's fine. Within walking distance of the Convention Center (if literally NOTHING else), which is nice.

The hotel just went through a renovation, so the rooms are modern, which is nice. But that's about it. It's not fantastic and here's why:

1. It's LOUD. Apparently they didn't feel the need to put the barest anything in the doors or walls to block sound, because coughs in the hallway or room next door are like someone is right next to you.

2. First floor rooms suck. I was on the first floor in the West Villas. People are tramping past your rooms to get to meeting rooms and, again, you can hear everything.

They also already had water damage on the first floor and had a big loud fan out in the hall blowing the carpet dry. Nice.

3. On-site food is pretty expensive. Nothing like a $13 turkey panini and a $12 mojito by the pool.

Then there were the weird things. The room had coffee pods and nothing to make them with. Seems like someone absconded with the coffee pod maker. Do they not notice these things?

Wake up calls not exactly on time. Finally called at 5:10 for my 5 a.m. wakeup and asked them to cancel it. So much for the backup alarm (see below).

iHome bedside clock didn't work as an alarm because the batteries were low and, well, no one changed them. I would have asked, but by this point, I was sick of talking to guest services.

Can't say I'd stay here again.

  • Liked — Proximity to the convention center
  • Disliked — Rooms were extremely loud

3 words, DONT STAY HERE! The renovations might fool you, as it is a handsome, clean looking hotel on the inside and out, but the management and staff of this place are clueless! It started out when my wife and I arrived mid-afternoon and wanted to take a short nap at 4 pm after a long trip from Baltimore. One of the doors from the outside of the section we were in, kept opening and closing, sounded like someone in the next room slamming his door every 5 minutes. After covering our heads with pillows and falling to sleep for a few minutes, two of the cleaning staff got into an argument, right outside our door, to the point where (in my underwear) I opened the door and screamed at them. So much for sleep, so we got dressed to go meet some old freinds for dinner, on the way out I told the manager about the door problem, and he said "No Problem" we will get it fixed". When we met our friends for dinner, he ask, "Did you like the wine I left at the hotel"? I said, "I didn't get it", and thanked him in advance for the gesture. You guessed it, I asked at the desk, nobody knows anything about any wine left for me. Now I know the bottle of wine he left is in the $200 range, so I asked them to check again, no wine! Furious, we go to bed. Next morning we had odered room service, when I went to open the door, I couldn't because the security lock had broken. So after a night of that door which they never fixed banging every 5 minutes, we have to wait 30 minutes for the maintenance man to take the door off! On the way out i told the manager what had happened, I thought the least he could do was comp the room, he just shrugged his shoulders and said "Sorry"! Dont waste your time or money on this place!
