I'm a frequent business traveler, used to Marriotts and Hyatts, but this place is a standout. An older hotel renovated in top-notch fashion, with a combination of superb facilities ans outstanding service. Rooms are ultra-modern with fine linens and towels, and trendy but very comfortable furniture; the bath has a walk-in shower with an in-ceiling "falling rain" shower head. Lobby and bar are very stylish, comfortable, and welcoming. Service is superb - low-key but extremely attentive and polite, from reception to the bell desk to the bar.

Staying here on Hotwire is a little like winning the lottery - I don't expect to be this lucky very often. Only downside I have noticed is pricey extras - parking at $19/day; restaurant seems overpriced (though I did not go there to eat.)

For starters, I immediately thought I would not like this hotel because Priceline chose and locked me into a non-refundable reservation without my confirmation to accept this particular location. However, I was able to do some research and I reviewed good reviews from Trip Advisor so I was a little at ease.

When my husband and I checked in (8/08), we were awwwed at the overall ambiance of the hotel including its stylish and modern decor. The parking attendant allowed us to park our car directly out side of the hotel door.."VIP style"...talk about 5 star treatment ( we paid a little extra for it). The room was beutifuly decorated and the bed and the soft, plush bedding was extreemly comfortable. The view from the 14th floor was breath-taking especially in the morning! I would not reccomend this hotel for families with small children due to the structure of the room balconies and the ambiance of the facility. It is more of a adult couples location than a family location. I for one can say I had vertigo everytime I stepped on to the balcony and I am not affraid of heights. They view is spectacular but a little scarry too (due to the height). The bathrooms are small but are very elegant. The staff was wonderful and very helpful.

The only down fall was the menu prices....can you say "EXPENSIVE" they charge $16 dollars for a cheese burger and after taxes and restaruant added grautity, the overall price for the cheese burger was $21.00!!!!! Oh....let's not forget $5.00 for a bottle of water! There are mini refrigerators in the standard rooms but they do not have microwaves. My husband and I went to nearby grocery store and stocked up on snacks, coldcut sandwiches, sodas / water and even stopped at the liquor store for a few drinks to prevent us from ordering any food from the hotel.

Our overall experience made my husband and I fell like royalty!
Although we were forced to stay at this hotel through Priceline's jinky reservation tricks......we have NO regrets!

Agree with the comments that the hotel is nice and modern with a lovely lobby, great beds and brilliant shower. The pool has fantastic sunbeds and great inflatable chairs for the pool. The pool was a bit gritty and greasy but I think there was a slight problem with the filter. I would only recommend the tower rooms though as they are much better than the waterway room we had on our first visit.. That didn't have the great shower and we had a few cleanliness issues. (we had booked for either end of our holiday). Also worth booking b&b as you get a voucher for $21 for breakfast which is really good and will fill you up all day!
It is a lovely hotel for all ages but I would just say I was a tiny bit disappointed as the reviews were so good, but, I expected too much and it has taught me that reviews are subjective!

My husband found this hotel by accident. WHAT A GEM! LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION. I absolutely loved the hotel and the staff is top notch. The room was great; I felt like Goldilocks in the right bed. Every staff member was friendly and gave you the impression that they genuinely enjoyed working at this hotel and assisting their guests. The views are incredible from every angle.

My husband and I will DEFINITELY be back (without the kids). Five Star Hotel, Five Star Service, Five Star Staff.

I stayed here for one week with my boyfriend and loved it! The hotel is really modern thanks to a recent refurbishment and is very relaxing. The staff are unobtrusive and let you get on with enjoying your stay and when you need something they are happy to help. I would say that upon check in a little more information about the hotel would have been good as I was just given a map and pointed towards the lifts!
The lobby and outdoor area have relaxing sofas to use if you feel like it and the pool is gorgeous with the usual sunbeds but also large bed style padded loungers which are very comfy to catch a few rays on. The pool also has some inflatable beds to play/relax on! It also stays open till about 11pm so good if you fancy a night swim! Towels and iced water are provided for your use too. There is a bar by the pool aswell although I didn't use this and there is one in the lobby. Drinks are quite pricey $7 for a bottle of corona!
Our room 1202 was lovely. It had two double beds (would rather have had a king but wasn't one apparently) and looked out onto the 17th Street causeway and bridge and the port. It was on the 12th floor so this made the view even better and the balcony went right around the corner which made it feel bigger than the rooms in the middle.
The beds are SO comfortable with memory foam style mattresses and feather duvets and pillows and the room comes with large flat screen TV, coffee/tea maker, fridge, hairdryer (the usual stuff). The shower in the bathroom was amazing.....its like a rain shower!!!!
The only bad thing about the stay is the parking at the hotel. There is ample but you have to either self park for $19 a day or valet park for $21 which I personally think is a bit steep considering what you pay to stay there in the first place.
The location is good too. Short drive to the beach across the bridge and it would be very handy of you were catching a cruise from port Everglades as its right opposite the port.
All in all I loved the hotel and would stay there again!
