Stayed at the fort Lauderdale Grande for 3 nights during spring break. The location is super; close to the beach and Las Olas, water taxi makes a stop at the hotel. Renovations seemed to have been completed, with the exception of a few workmen on the deck outside the lobby on our first day there. The property looks fresh and inviting. Our room was beautiful, and one of the best smelling hotel rooms I've ever been in. There was a very fresh, clean smell to the room; not like disinfectant or cleaners, but a pleasant "beachy-oceany" fragrance. The view of the Intercoastal Waterway from our balcony was lovely; very relaxing to gaze out across the water and see the city lights in the evenings. Oddly, we didn't get any clean towels when our room was cleaned on the second day. They appeared on the third day, which wasn't a real inconvenience, but it was puzzling. The rain shower is a real treat, but beware of water that puddles at the shower threshold. Put down a lot of towels, because you could easily slip in the water that accumulates.

There was some sort of glitch in the parking set-up. We opted not to use valet, parking but to park in the self-park lot. Your room key card is supposed to open the gate, but it didn't work until our last day. We had to call for help from the bellman. Everyone we talked to seemed "confused" about our dilemma. I got the feeling they were trying to steer us towards using the valet parking. You are charged $19.00 a day for parking, so this annoyed us a bit.

We didn't eat in any of the restaurants, but got two glasses of wine from the bar. At $11.00 a pop, we decided to go to the grocery store and buy our own bottle the next day. There's a Publix not far from the hotel.

We enjoyed our stay very much; friendly staff, easy check in and out. Gorgeous views, clean rooms, great location.

  • Liked — newly rennovated property, attractive, clean rooms
  • Disliked — parking set-up

My wife and I stayed there after a Cruise. We were looking for a nice hotel not too expensive and after an exhausting research and based on the reviews, we took our chances with this Hotel. The hotel is not on the beach but has a free shuttle to the beautiful beach of Fort Lauderdale, it has a very nice little restaurant by the Canal and the pool area is good. The personnel was very friendly and the concierge helped us getting around. We took the water taxi, is is a very nice ride and for just $12 you can come and go the entire day. The rooms are very nice and modern, it seems like everything is new and has a little refrigerator. The shower was awesome! It also has a nice restaurant that serves dinner. I payed a very fair price. If you are looking for a nice pre/post cruise hotel and don't want to spend a lot of money, this is the place.

  • Liked — The friendly staff, the room decoration and cleaninless
  • Disliked — has no shuttle to the airport

No kidding...I never write reviews. This time I'm glad to........
The Ft. Lauderdale Grande is the real deal. I travel for business every week. I am usually appropriately dissapointed with most accomodations -- but hey -- its business and I, like most of you, have come to expect it.

Then I thought I'd try this new hotel that's part of the Hilton Honors program. Wow! What a great surprise. This place screams quailty and excellence. Even the Bellmen are friendly and happy. Beautiful facility and the room blew me away. Ever had water come out of the celing for your shower? Huge flat screens, great views and I never notice the furniture when I travel...but this stuff was awesome.

Do yourself a favor and check out the hotel restaurant China Grill. Change your world as you know it and order a lobster pancake. Rates where in line (except they still want you to pay $5 for a bottle of water in the room). Great place to work out of or stay and play.

I just finished a 5 day stay at the hotel. Its just been renovated and I must say its first rate, and perfect. The people are very nice and will go out of their way for you. The gym is large for hotel standards and the property is very well kept up. The only draw back though was the new resturant on site is a bit spendy, but talk to the best hotel consierge in the country (Ellen) and she will set you up with some great food around town. She also set up up with tours and answered all our questions.

I come to town every year for a confernece and I will stay at this hotel everytime, no doubt !!

Dont miss it, Ellen will take great care of you !!

Dear Hotel Manager, (or to whom it may concern)
I wanted to provide you with some positive feedback re: my recent stay at your property.

The staff was courteous and helpful of my requests. It was extremely busy throughout the days I was there, as I understand your going through a renovation as well.

In particular, your property concierge Jennifer Jiruska was very informative and professional. She was knowledgle of the area and its offerings; and, was also helpful in managing our requests for reservations and inquiries.

Wishing you continued success at your property.
Sincerely,
Bill Coccola
