we stayed in a large 2 bedroom suite overlooking the ocean. The suite was enormous, enough to sleep 6. The views out over the wide sandy beach fantastic. The place is expensive, but is caterers for a particular market. The rooms are clean & tidy, the decorations is a little over the top and dated, perhaps a refresh is required soon. It has just been purchased by the Ritz Carlton group so this will only lead to great investment in the future. One may think that investment in the place would slow down before the completion which will be in 2 years, so have a look at later reviews to ensure the standard remain high. the only problem we had was consistantly with the room service food, perhaps the chef had the week off as the other restaurants were more than adequate.

I would give everyone the tip of insisting on the ocean views and get it in writing as we had to change rooms to get the one we thought we were originally promised over the phone. All of the room still have great views over the lovely pool area.

They have a resident Iguana by the pool that is happy to eat the flowers while you drink your cocktails by the pool.

I would stay there again without doubt, and will definately when the Ritz Carlton deal comes off.

Nothing exciting, tired rooms and paint, nice location on the beach, most balconies have pleasant views, front office staff curt and not willing to go the extra mile, off the beaten path with nowhere to really walk to, acceptable as basic accommodation with acceptable service and a godd beach location, No reason really to avoid or go.

A great stay-from the moment we arrived until our departure. Courteous, helpful staff; gorgeous room, great pool-side setting. We had a leak in our room-it was taken care of immediately & our buffet breakfast was comped. I don't understand some of the negative reviews. This place is a class act-the decor, service (& of course the price) were what I would expect from a 4 star establishment. We are a lesbian couple and were treated with total respect. I would certainly stay there again. Linda

If you don't mind sharing your hotel room with a few ROACHES, and want a smaller sized average hotel, with a country club feel, this is the place for you. (they did take $100 off my room for sharing with the bugs...big deal) There is nothing special about the hotel other than the large beach area and playground for children. We stayed in a one bedroom suite. The pull out sofa beds were some of the best we have ever experienced, even better than some we have found in 5 star hotels. The bathrooms were a bit on the small size. The decor was okay, TVs could be updated, they were old, especially the small one in the bedroom. They did not have turn down night service. If you can over look the bugs, have children, and are looking for a resort with activities for your children with a large beach area, this is the place for you. The large beach was probably the best thing about the resort. They offer a nice playground with ping pong, swings, miniature golf, shuffle board, chess, and tennis courts. If you like to be pampered, book somewhere else. The pool side chairs were nothing special, cushions were available if you asked. The beach did offer nice cabanas to rent, however you had to bring your own towels from the pool area. They did not offer dining or beverage service at the beach or the pool area. The pools were cold! They should have turned up the heat, especially since the weather was on the cooler side. The fitness center was small - four treadmills, one eliptical, two bicycles and a few weight machines. The equipment could use some cleaning, towels were not always available in the fitness room. The food was okay...with the exception of breakfast, which we found to be a fairly good. The wait staff was very friendly and service fast. I must admit, the bugs have prejudiced me against this place...if not for them, would I stay here again? Probably not with all the other nice hotels going up in the area.
