We stayed at this property for one night preceeding a lovely cruise. This hotel is way overpriced for what it is and such an awful way to begin a vacation. First, there were no porters to help with luggage. The front desk staff was incredibly rude. They booked us into a room that was occupied and right accross from the elevator. The service in the resturant was slow and food mediocore (we waited about 30 minutes before anyone even came to our table). I could hardly sleep because the bedroom window is right on a very noisy, busy street. Only one elevator was working on our side so the wait for an elevator was 10+minutes. The only good thing I can say is that the breakfast is complimentary and very good, as long as you don't mind standing in line for 20+ minutes to place your order and you don't expect kind, polite staff members. I would suggest for $240 a night you could do better somewhere else.

  • Liked — really nothing, other than proximity to cruise lines
  • Disliked — road noise at night

We stayed at this particular hotel because of a recommendation from a concierge by where I work in NYC. I read a few reviews at first and was not so confident about booking. After being reassured, I booked. We arrived on February 7 at 10 am and took a chance at checking in that early...without a problem....we were checked in with a smile. We parked the car, bell man took our luggage and escorted us. I was shocked by the photos on various web sites since they did not compliment this hotel much. Our room was also on the 11 floor.....living room area with small kitchenette and dining table, a spacios bedroom with 2 double beds and unfortunately, a tiny balcony with not a nice view of a shopping center.....but then again, there are no nice 360 degree views from that location. This was the beginning of our week long stay. The beds were super comfortable...so comfortable that my daughter who usually asks to sleep with me, wanted to sleep in her own bed. Everything seemed brand new.....super clean too. Basic toiletries by Neutrogena were provided. Breakfast in the morning was plentiful and edible, nothing to brag about but a great inclusive I may add with snacks to take with you for later. The staff was okay..not all that friendly but not rude either. We ate at the restaurant in the lobby once and it was overpriced for the quality of crap they serve, in my opinion. Great service by the waiter we had though, he actually even informed me that second that Anna Nicole Smith died since it was on breaking news, very dramatic....I thought that was funny! We only spent about 8-10 hours a day in the hotel and that was to sleep...we had a car rental for daily road trips everyday. Our experience was great....never a problem and good service when requested. We tipped $5 a day for room service and came back to a clean, organized and well scented room. We would definitely stay here again.....not for the panoramic views cause there are none, not for the pool or local beach cause we never saw it, definitely not for the food either but for the quality of the room and convenient location by the airport definitely our type of place. Not to mention, We paid $39 a night for this place because of my NY connection and it was like finding a pot of gold......even if we would have paid the $200-300 a night, would have been worth it. Great stay and beautiful, relaxing lobby. Enjoy!

I think it is terrible for a hotel of your size when asked for a handicap room for your guests with a problem getting around being put up on the 11th floor what would have happened if you had a fire or the elevators did not work.We booked a handicap room about 3months ago and when we went to check in they told us at the desk they had no handicap rooms availible all were gon first come first served. How can you take reservations and not honor the reservation .When we got into the room they had no handicap toilet or shower the manager had to search the hotel
for a seat to put on the toilet so my wife could use the toilet. This is one hotel i will not stay at again. I think the hotel should make some kind of refund for the run around we received and the inconvience to my wife who had to endure all of this.

At $300 a night, this property is a joke. Upon entering the room we were greeted with that sickening, rancid smell I associate with $29 a night motels. The beds are cheap, as are the sheets and pillows. We'd stayed in a Hilton in Cocoa Beach the night before (which cost less than half, by the way) and found luxurious, high-thread-count sheets, nice pillows.....in short, a very comfortable sleep. Not so at the Embassy Suites. Cheap, scratchy sheets, the cheapest foam pillows.........an absolute insult for what they charge. Never again.

Rennovation of the atrium skylight is continuing--flakes are drifting around me as I write. The sauna/changing rooms by the pool were closed after Katrina, and are still closed. A number of details are showing their age.

The price of rooms has gone to $300/day (but other places have gone up also). If you aren't going on a cruise, avoid this place on a weekend; it's packed then (that explains the long lines at the omlet bar in the free breakfast buffet--you can always get cold items fast--avoid the scrambled eggs).

The staff are polite and cheerful, but sometimes the wait at the front desk is long (bring a book).

They put a free internet kiosk in the lobby, which is nice. Except when it slooooows way down (but it's free). The drinks at the happy hour are dilute (but it's free).

The pool is nice.

The real beach is too far to walk to (unless you walk through someone's yard).
