Actually staying here as I write this and will be here two more nights. It's a beautiful hotel with great staff, lovely pool area and many restaurants, etc. within walking distance. I would highly recommend the ES. Walk the few blocks to Southport Raw Bar for a casual, inexpensive dinner while you're in the area.

We had a great experience from start to finish. We booked our room online through the hotel website. We pre-paid for our room and this meant a decreased internet rate. Our flight from LA arrived at noon, we were at the hotel at 1:00 PM. The hotel staff promptly checked us in and gave us high floor, king, non-smoking room as requested. We spent the remainder of the evening lounging by the pool and enjoying the outside restaurant. There is a super-market within walking distance and we stocked up on drinks, wine, snacks before our cruise. The manager's reception was our favorite, complete with mixed drinks. We also ate at their onsite restaurant and ordered pizza. The front desk had given us a $5.00 off coupon, which was great and the food was very yummy. The rooms are quite large, little balcony, we used the fitness facility and enjoyed the cooked to order breakfast in the morning. It was a bit crowded in the morning as we slept in, but we just took our meal outside and sat on the nice patio area. We requested a late check-out at noon and the shuttle took us to cruise port. All in all, a wonderful experience and we will absolutely stay at the Fort Lauderdale Embassy again for future cruises.

My husband and I stayed for one night prior to a cruise. This was a perfect spot in Fort Lauderdale. We took a taxi from Ft. Lauderdale airport. It is only about 10 minute and about $12 cab ride. (none of the hotels I looked at had airport shuttles, but it's so close, no big deal.) Check in was very easy, smooth and quick. The hotel lobby is a lovely open atrium with rooms surrounding. Our room was on the 11th floor (2nd from top) right near the elevator. It is an all suite hotel, so our room had a living room with couch, table, flat screen TV, wet bar and a bedroom with king bed, armoire, flat screen TV and sink. The bathroom is normal hotel size with decent shower pressure. The bed is very comfortable! The toiletries are great...I always try to get extra because I love the scent! Wish they would sell it in the gift shop! They have free internet hookup in the business center or lobby for checking email which was very convenient even though we had to wait for a few minutes for a free terminal. The gift shop had everything you could ever want or need with a very nice lady to help. Breakfast in the morning was great. Made-to-order omelets, breakfast meats, fruit, bread, etc. Typical for Embassy Suites. It is one of the best things about this hotel line. We took the hotel shuttle to the cruise port about 10 min away and only $12. (cheaper than a taxi and ready to leave whenever we needed.) Overall, this was a great stay. Great service and value. We have also stayed at the Ft. Lauderdale Hilton. Even though that has the beach (if you have time) I would still choose Embassy Suite due to the breakfast and manager reception.

I stay at this hotel several nights per month as a business traveler. The rooms are wonderful as most Embassy Suites are, and the atrium is one of my favorites.

The pool area is one of the nicest I have ever seen at a hotel, and the food is great in the morning (as is the manager's happy hour every evening.)

The staff is something else that makes this place special. I have been greeted by name by the valet guys just by their memory, and the same goes for the staff. The room service is first-rate in both quality and value for the money.

Every room that I have been in has at least a small balcony and parking is never far away for those of us who don't valet park everywhere we go.

The fitness room has been re-done and is quite nice.

One of my favorite hotels...hands-down.
