This is an extremely beautiful property. I have stayed in many hotels and am not easily impressed. It is so tropical and lovely from the interior to the immense gated pool area where you will find rocks, waterfall., and other water features. The bedding was so comfortable that I am going to have to try and aquire some of the Downlite brand of pillows used there (yes, I pulled one out of the case and looked at the tag). The front desk and housekeeping staff were supremely nice. This would be a fantastic place to hold a wedding reception. It also is very conveniently located to both the port and also many restaurants. The only drawback I found was the food service. Despite a recently renovated restaurant area that looks great, service was extremely slow. They seemed ill prepared for the meal rush and as if they just expected everyoe to order the buffet. It appeared like one waiter was trying to service all the areas of the floor alone. Upon ordering a specialty drink, I caught the bartender reading instructions on how to mix it., so of course that took quite long. When my veggie burger did come, it looked like a chargrilled hockey puck. I was also very dissappointed that their made to order breakfast included some frozen nuked french toast sticks instead of the hot pancakes I have come to expect from Embassy Suites. In short, it is a beautiful place to stay but don't plan on dining there.

I was expecting more from 3 1/2 stars. The lobby was nice as was our room. The building looked old from the inside. Travelling with 3 teens, the breakfast was important, but was disappointed with it. Food was tasteless.

Not that it was a bad experience, just that there are many other choices around there!

Recently stayed at the Embassy Suites in Ft. Lauderdale - it was a great value compared to everything else nearby that was available.

Room was clean & spacious (a tad smaller than some other Embassy Suites I've stayed at, but still plenty large). We had an awful view of some oil storage tanks, but that didn't really matter to us. (The hotel is very close to Port Everglades and all rooms on the backside of the hotel have a view of these storage tanks.)

The pool was fantastic - not as crowded as I would've expected, which was perfect.

Interactions with the front desk were great - we got an early check in and a late check out - they were EXTREMELY accommodating.

Very close to the airport - great location overall.

The only downside was a group of 100+ teenage tourists from overseas who were terribly rude and were overrunning the elevators, etc.. I'm not sure if this hotel is generally used by their tour company or if this was just a one-off... If I knew they were going to be there again at the same time I was planning on being there, I would think again about staying there. (Not the hotel's fault by any means, but still influenced my opinions of the stay.)

  • Liked — Great staff, great pool, great location
  • Disliked — Noisy, rude teenage tourists

My husband and I and 2 teenage kids had a wonderful 2 days here at the end of our holiday. The hotel looks modern from the outside but is traditionally decorated inside. The suites have good sized rooms with plenty space for storing luggage (we had 6 suitcases and golf clubs) and are complete with fridge, microwave, coffee machine, large tvs in both rooms, hairdryer, iron and ironing board. There is a complimentary Manager's Reception every evening where you are able to enjoy a large selection of wines, beers and liquor, the perfect way to start your evening. The breakfast also complimentary offers a good variety of cooked food, cereals, fruit, pastries and a selection of hot and cold drinks which can be enjoyed in the beautiful tropical surroundings inside the hotel. The luxury pool area also in a lush setting has plenty of comfortable chairs. The hotel has a complimentary business centre (computers, printer & internet access) and a small gift shop. Walgreens and small shopping centre with a Publix are a few minutes walk away. You would need transport for the beach and major shopping but there are plenty of eating places surrounding the hotel (Outback, Chucks, Waxy O'Connor-Irish Pub and many more). Would definitely return.

  • Liked — The beautiful tropical surroundings throughout
  • Disliked — Too many school parties hogging the spa

We had received a fabulous travel agent pricing on our 2 room suite during our stay of two nights. Our plans were to stay a few days and then board our cruise ship in Miami. The property was worth the drive as it was more than we could of asked for. It's like a mini resort. This hotel is perfectly nestled between nightlife, shopping, near the beach, and by the Fort Lauderdale Airport. We self parked, for $3 more you could opt for Valet parking. Once inside there is so much to do. We arrived during the high point of the evening reception. You could order some wine, champaigne, mixed drinks or even Shirley Temple's all for no charge, you could also tip the generous server. The decor is very lush green with loud waterfalls in the lobby area. Our room was on the 11th floor (12 total floors). There are elevators situated all around the property for convenience. Our room was pretty sizeable with plenty of space for 2 adults, 2 children. The room had contemporary colors and decor but a very small balcony. The room had two tvs, one in the main room and one in the livingroom. The kids immediately changed to go to the outside pool. You need your room key for access and any other gates around the well secured property. The grounds were beautiful and well landscaped. We passed by a manmade pond of very tropical fish of various pretty colors. We also saw an iguana. The palm trees situated all over was such a nice change of scenery as compared to Virginia. The pool was full length with a waterfall. There was also a lukewarm hot tub. There were plenty of outside living room styled patio furniture and full umbrellas to block the sun. We ordered pizza and it took only minutes for it to arrive so we ate by the pool area. Once dark the outside lighting comes on. In the mornings, a wonderfully complimentary hot breakfast is served buffet style, so just help yourself, one morning we had hot pancakes the other morning was french toast sticks. You can take your picks from an omelet made just for you to cereal, muffins, and eggs and bacon. We went to the local Publix store for cool water and sun visors to head to the beach. We took the Trolley which was absolutely free since it was Thursday and we took it straight to Fort Lauderdale beach where we hung out for the entire day. We ate at a restaurant on the beach front and they're all pretty pricey. The beach was clean and the weather was perfect The kids swam all day long, don't forget your sunblock! The trolley picked us up and dropped us off right near the hotel. We headed back in the evening and the kids headed straight to the pool to end the day. This crazy guy made it over the fence and started talking to many of the property guests inappropriately. Security had to be called, remember I said, "well secured property"...well...that's what we thought. We were pretty uncomfortable with this guy around our kids and we left to go back to the room. My sister and I went to work out at the Fitness Center on the 12th floor which was pretty nice with the latest machines and tv's on each machine. We got a pretty good workout. There is also a business center that you can access with your room key to access the internet, print or even fax. There was also flat panel screens and easy internet access in the lobby area. Our last night we walked to get some chinese food in the area as restaurants are located on the same strip. The nights were beautiful and the check out process was a breeze. We would definately stay here again.
