My husband and I stayed at this hotel for 3 nights in December of 2004. He was on a business trip and the meetings were in this hotel so after much discussion on where to stay we decided to give this hotel a try, since the meetings were there. We both had concerns after reading reviews of this hotel. We had a cornor king room on a high floor, full oceanview. The view was incredible!! The bed was so low, hard, and worn out that we may have well slept on the floor. Have done a lot of traveling and have never seen a smaller bathroom. My husband, who is a tall man 6'3, could barely fit in the bathroom. He had to back in. Room was somewhat clean. Overall, hotel needs major renovations and re-decorating. Would not recommend if you want a comfortable bed and bath. It does have a nice view of the ocean though. We visited a hotel (which is rated #1 for Ft. Lauderdale) called The Pillars on New River sound. One word to describe this place:AWESOME!!!!!! The manager gave us a tour. Hope to go back to lauderdale and stay at the Pillars. Oh, the restaurant at the Doubletree is super expensive and the food is not good!! Go to the Pillars for an awesome stay and personal service!!

Stayed here 1 night precruise in November. Service desk was very pleasant. Hotel was clean and neat. Room was a little small, but nice. Loved the balcony with oceanview. Right across street was Seven11 for anything you might need. Just a very short walk across road to a beautiful beach. Pussers restaurant and bar right underneath hotel had excellent food. I would definately stay here again for my next cruise. It is an older hotel, but very clean and neat and good service.

Stayed in this hotel for two nights and I found nothing wrong with this hotel. The workers were friendly and helpful, my room was clean. The balcony offered a very nice view of the ocean, even though I did not request it. I booked this room on hotwire for $67.00 a night which is a wonderful price for a 3.5 star hotel. I had no problem with inside hotel noise either. Also i thought i would mention that the toilets do not have pee in them, the color of the water is a slight yellow color. I have stayed in Fort Lauderdale before and this is the color of the water at all hotels. This hotel had a very delightful smell. I am just trying to let everyone know that unless you are use to staying in 5 star hotels you will have no problems with this one. I do have one negative thing to say - I did not like the fact that the restaurant closed at 2 P.M. everyday but there is plenty of places close by to walk to.

great location on beach, room was adequate, clean but very small bathroom and noisy a/c. balcony with view of ocean, got thru priceline at good price, wouldnt pay asking rate, hotel is not fancy but ok for a couple of days
