the hotel itself was great..we got a great beach view and the staff was the most friendly..however i would stay away from neighboring BUBBA GUMP RESTAURANT which is the most awful place and service i experienced in ft lauderdale. the staff was the most arrogant and rude..i sent an email to corporate and they never bother to respond. Great hotel STAY AWAY from its neighboring restaurant BUBBA GUMP it sucks big time.

“Great Location -Good Hotel”

I spent 5 nights at this hotel earlier this month, while attending a conference. The hotel was good. The staff was friendly and the room was very comfortable. This is an older hotel that has been redone. The location is great too.

Valet parking is $25 a night, but in Ft.L you pay to park EVERYWHERE! The good thing is that you can take your car in and out numerous time. The valet staff (Jimmy) was wonderful.

The hotel is right across the street from the public beach, and the hotel pool deck sets right above shops and places to eat (Bubba Gumps is good) The drinks at the pool bar are expensive but good, with live music most evenings.

My room was on the 14th floor so I had a great view of the ocean and the parking lot below. My room was fresh and clean - new furniture and great linens. The room had a separate sitting area and two flat screen TVs. There was even a frig which came in handy. The bathroom was nice too.

My only real complaint was with Ft. Lauderdale itself. The convention center is not close. You can't walk there, and most of the hotels are spread out along the coast. If I were to come back, this hotel was fine, but I'd probably want to stay at the Harbor Beach Marriott... right on the water with beautiful grounds.

My husband and I stayed at the Courtyard for 4 nights in June, and we couldn't be happier with our stay. First of all, we were given a corner room with floor-to-ceiling windows with spectacular views of the intercoastal and the beach. We never turned on the TV because the view was so incredible and it was fun to watch the swimmers and divers at the Hall of Fame. The décor of the room was modern and pleasant. The glass-door shower was large and had strong water pressure. We valet parked our rental car, and always received great service from the valets. The housekeeping was good, and we had no problems getting extra towels when we asked. We ordered room service twice, and the food was decent (in my opinion hotel food is never great), and it came quickly. We ate breakfast once in hotel, and it was your standard issue hotel breakfast buffet. We never used the pool, but did visit the tiki bar a few times. My only complaint with the bar was that it wasn't always open during the posted hours. The folks at the front desk were always friendly, and we were thrilled that we were able to check-in at noon and check-out at 3:00 pm. We chose this hotel for its reasonable rates and great location, but we were surprised by how great our stay was – we’ll definitely be back!

I recently stayed for Memorial weekend with 2 friends. The three of us are in our early twenties and wanted a fun weekend.

The rooms very nice and the staff was very helpful. We loved the poolside bar and the beach is steps from the hotel. We found the location to be perfect. The beach is right there, the pool was nice and all the restaaunts were closeby.

One day we did have breakfast in the resataurant and were dissapointed. The portions of food were very small.

however, we did find a place in Beach Place Shopping center for breakfast that we loved (less than 10 minute walk away). We also picked up the trolley for only 50 cents which took us to the Riverfront where all the nightlife was.

Overall - we were very pleased with our stay. When taking cabs at night - we found the cab drivers to take you different ways if you said the addresss of the hotel (Seabreeze blvd) because they know you are tourists...we found telling them A1A and Las Olas was best).

Great location. Nice rooms. Very nice staff. I'd definitely stay here again!

My husband and I stayed for two night at this hotel. One night we paid and the other we used points. To begin with, when I checked in, the staff person told me nothing about the hotel and thought I was only staying one night. I pointed out that I had two nights and he said oh ok, and said he saw my second night reservation. The next morning, an express checkout was slipped under the door. I called the front desk and was told very rudely that I had to re-check in by going downstairs and going through the whole process. My husband called down again since it seemed ridiculous that we would have to re-check in since they had my credit card and my Marriott reward number, but nonetheless we did have to re-check in. Anyway very rude staff. Never once were they friendly the few times we had to go down there.

Additionally, our ocean view room was very hot the first night. It wouldn't get below 79 degrees. We called down and they sent someone up. It was sort of fixed, room wouldn't get colder than 73 and we couldn't open the blinds due to the heat coming in from the windows. The repair man even stated that we should keep blinds closed to prevent heat. Now why pay extra for an oceanview room when you can't look out the windows?

Other than that, the room was fine - nothing special. We stayed another night at the Doubletree and it was just a nicer room, nicer hotel and a much much better staff. So the contrast makes this hotel seem even worse.

The positive is the location. Close to many restaurants and bars. Right across street from beach. Great location! But I wouldn't stay there again.
